Dr. Sharaf saved my life. I went to my GP with flu like symptoms. My left arm was tingling but as I have two fused vertebra in my neck I thought this was related to an ongoing cervical issue that affects my left arm. My GP sent me to Sharaf who recommended a cath asap. He had his nurse drive me over to the hospital in her personal car. The cath showed leaks in my aorta (Type A dissection). A helicopter was called. I was air lifted to MUSC and straight into surgery. Five days later I walked out.
