Recently had cataract surgery in both eyes. Dr. Bussell and his team were great. The post-procedure communication was awesome. My vision was immediately greatly improved. I can read street signs from a distance again and see details on the far off mountains that I hadn’t seen in years. Also done during the surgeries were procedures to improve draining for glaucoma. This eliminated the need for daily eye drops. My glaucoma has been treated by Dr. Bussell for a couple of years now and I have full confidence that his direction will keep me seeing well for years to come.

2 overdue cataracts surgeries. I put off because the idea creeped me out. Dr. Bussel was wonderful. Kind, prompt, professional and did an outstanding job on both eyes because I can see without glasses up close for the first time in 30 years. Highly recommend him. The surgeries that I feared were a piece of cake.

He was very professional, including great communication all the way through the process and the procedure. And, now I am the extremely satisfied beneficiary of his much appreciated knowledge and skills. The improvement in my vision is nothing less than amazing. It had reached the point where my right eye was doing most, perhaps all of the work, and not all that well, but now both eyes are doing great. His follow-up has been admirable as well. Waited for 1 hour and 45 minutes only to receive a FOUR MINUTE eye exam in which he told my 94 year old mother to just wear glasses and wipe her eyelids to resolve her issue with double vision in her right eye when she is in bed and her other issue of a film in her left eye that she has in the morning that requires her to rub her eyes for several minutes to try and clear it up. He literally only was in the room for FOUR minutes - the exam lasted 2 minutes. He was smug, dismissive, and indifferent to my Mother's need for help.

I was hesitant about having cataract surgery because another optometrist kept telling me for 20 years, my cataracts didn't require surgery. Finally at age 82, I checked online and was impressed with Dr. Bussel's experience and reviews. His office is located in a state-of-the art setting where staff are professional, considerate and friendly. Dr. Bussel informed me I was a candidate for cataract surgery. He explained the procedure and his office scheduled surgery on both eyes shortly thereafter. All my questions were answered and the office was available to take phone calls or return phone calls quickly. Surgery at St. Jude Plaza Surgery Center went smoothly and the staff there took excellent care from start to finish. I was amazed at how well the surgery went. Don't need glasses other than readers after cataract surgery, vision 20-25. So thankful for finding Dr. Bussell and his expertise changed my vision for the better. Thank you Dr. Bussel. My visits with Dr. Bussel have always been great. The staff are helpful. All the pre tests are done quickly with very little waiting time. Dr. Bussel is very professional and has a joyful attitude. He seems to love what he's doing. My first visit we talked about my concerns, he listened, clarified and discussed what was happening with my eyes. I teased him about his colorful socks. He explained he's the father of two little girls. In all my visits he has carefully explained what is happening with my eyes, suggests what should or could be done, the pros and cons. And lets me make a knowledgable decision. I highly recommend him.

Dr Bussel has been treating me and my cataracs for the last couple of years. He is very knowledgeable in this area. He took the time to answer my questions and concerns pre and post surgery. He is very compassionate and cares for his patients.

Dr Bussel is a competent, caring, and highly SKILLED optimalogist. He addressed my and my husbands cataracts and our surgeries were both successful. He also took the time to do a procedure on my eyes that are affected by glaucoma. I no longer need glasses and I no longer need drops! He is truly a blessing. I have been at another nearby office and was not treated with respect nor was my conditions repaired . Terry eye center is fantastic from the front to the back.

Over the course of several annual eye appointments with various Ophthalmologists, they never gave me clear direction on when I could get my cataracts removed. They were vague and never guided me in the process. When I first learned of Dr. Bussel, it was through his St. Jude Wellness Cataract Information night. He answered everyone’s questions and really helped me learn about the various cataract options and eye health issues. His pivotal statement that moved me forward was, If you have blurry vision and it can no longer be corrected with glasses, why wait until you are 80. I am so happy I didn’t wait. I went to Dr. Bussell to get a second opinion regarding my need for cataract and glaucoma surgeries. I learned about him and his practice through two seminars he conducted at St. Judes.
