Took little to no history and made a snap judgment. Prescribed a medication without imaging. Preformed nerve tests said he would give me some intrustction at our follow-up and did not. Said there was nothing in my history to incicate his findings as I shared above he took little to no history. Prescribed a medcation that would have a moderatly negative interaction with one I had just started takin.

Office Inefficiency
Dr GalIan is very helpful and understanding; however, his staff doesn't handle vitally important paperwork efficiently. I've waited over a week for my prescription to be sent to my pharmacy. Every day, I'm told they will send it by noon or by 4 p.m.

My son went to Dr. Galan for a memory test requested by me because I observed my son for the past three years struggling with his memory. I was expecting a computerized test, however, he merely asked him a few questions and said he was fine. My son’s primary doctor has referred him to another neurologist because he didn’t agree with the outcome as well.

Not likely to continue with this physician who lacks professional equations. I went through his testing which revealed I “did not have neuropathy “. After being treated by Stanford doctors for pleural neuropathy. Told of future biopsy test but never contacted. I believe this group is questionable and needs direction from the medical board.

(even longer review left with his ofc after Sept 2, and will contact for questions if desired) I consider Dr. Galan to be a genius in his field(s) of expertise. He is the only Dr. I will see for injections.(have tried Several others- disastrous screaming results)! Consider Dr. G to be the Best and Only Dr. for me; drive double the distance required just to be treated by him. My guess is that his extra training in neurology informs his excellence in pain mgment? He is most outstanding at understanding where/how pain exists in the body- and how to extinguish it- with the greatest skill and sensitivity. (And I detest needles!) NO Problem with Dr G????! He has a respectful, professional demeanor. He is direct/will listen to your needs, great sense of humor. So glad I found him- Dr. Galan's care had been LIFESAVING (as anyone with Extreme Pain can relate to). Treated regularly for: hips/knees- injections, and soon to be back, as well as pain mgment. Contact: through his office.

He was very rude and disrespectful to my mom who is disabled. When I tried to explain anything to him, he would interrupt me, call me a liar and just wouldn’t listen to any of our concerns. My mom already has a great pain management specialist, what she needed was a neurologist. She doesn’t need any more pain meds pushed onto her. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who is disabled to him.

Dr Galan is a tremendous doctor. He’s helped me with migraines that other doctors dismissed. He prescribed the latest rxs and helped me get them for a very reduced cost. He is always very professional, courteous, kind and caring. I highly recommend him.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Galan and I have had a great experience with him, he is very direct but also funny and has a great sense of humor. He really cares about fixing your problems, I agree with the review about his communication skills, he tends to cut you off and seams to have difficulty understanding my concerns, I had to tell him to listen to me and repeat myself multiple times to get my point across, but in the end he did understand and I got a response to fix my nerve issues. All in all I would recommend him, he knows what he is doing and I'm grateful to have him as my doctor

My experience was I was not trying to see a neurologist for pain management. But he kept pushing pain management on me. I will say he spent two hours in the office with me. Explaining how you can put cocaine drops in your eyes and the benefits of viagra and what it did for men....while looking at his crotch. I am a woman, I was there for neurology diagnosis per my reputable orthopedic surgeon, and what I got was a quack. I can only imagine that his high ratings from 7 people are based on their need for pain management. If anyone is wondering which doctors are pushing opiods...this is one of them. I am disgusted at the waste of time I spent there trying to tell him that I don't want pain management, I was there for a diagnosis. I have an appointment now with a different neurologist and am hoping this has a better outcome. (only reason for a 1 star rating is because I had to in order to post...otherwise it would be a ZERO).

I have had back pain most of my adult life. I've had dozens of injections, 2 back surgeries and at 64 years old my pain specialist Sam sent me to get an xray. Turns out the pain was from a crushed disk that neither surgeon found. I went to see Dr Galan and my life has changed dramatically! I have a new zest for life and can do most of the things I use to do including surfing again! I have recommended this to all my friends and family that experience back pain! Thank you Dr Galan Earl :-)

Arrogant. Doesn't let patient speak or contribute. He really needs more ESL classes, so that he is more able to understand and communicate with others. The phrase, Stop, look and listen, was meant for Dr. Balance.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Galan. He is an excellent doctor, and what I hope every doctor should be. He has excellent bedside manners. Whereas other doctors treat you as just a number and is oblivious to your case, Dr. Galan is different. He truly cares for his patients. He is very compassionate and kind and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Dr. Galan doesn't just have the head knowledge , he has the heart knowledge too - and that's what makes him GREAT.
