I just visited Dr. Aleem for my 3 month check up after surgery on my L3 & L4. I was happy I was able to thank him in person. The pain I had experienced is completely gone. My back has healed & I am ready for Spring gardening. I am beyond grateful for his skill in accomplishing this

Neck Surgery
I am 1 year post ACDF surgery. The results from surgery exceeded my expectations. I have gained movement and strength back that I feared I never would. I am thankful to Dr Aleem and his team for the care I received. He made me feel comfortable throughout the process and clearly explained the surgery and recovery.

Neck Surgery
I had major neck pain for years and Dr. Aleem said he could help. Apparently I had alot of problems and I wanted the best to do my survey. Dr. Aleem proved he is one of the best. Within a few days later, after my surgery, my neck felt great.

Common Sense Approach
Dr. Aleem and Dr. Patel quickly arrived at the fact that my back issues were not treatable with medication or therapy. They knew that I was active and needed a solid solution which happened to be surgery. I was on board immediately with their recommendation and realized fabulous results.

Cervical/Thoracic Spine surgery
I approached Dr. Aleem to provide his opinion on the current condition of my cervical/thoracic region as it was discovered that several screws from an out of state surgery conducted 12 years prior had actually separated themselves from the bone. As we met over the course of a few months, through x-rays taken, it was also evident that my head was dropping and in danger of becoming rigid in that position. Dr. Aleem performed a posterior cervical hardware removal, C2-T6 decompression & spinal fusion surgery and permanently corrected my head posture. Throughout the entire time I met with Dr Aleem, he was very attentive, explained clearly his thoughts and diagnosis, and answered all my questions before and after the surgery. Dr. Aleem’s team monitored my recovery from my surgery, kept my pain under control, and addressed any concerns I had. I would highly recommend Dr. Aleem and his staff, and the University of Michigan Hospital if you are in need of spinal care.

Cervical Spine Disc Replacement
Everything Dr. Aleem told me before and after my surgery was very truthful. I experienced nerve pain in my neck and shoulder for 15 months prior to seeing Dr. Aleem. He reviewed my MRI and told me I needed surgery. He preformed the surgery on March 3,2022. When I woke up from surgery the pain was gone! I am very pleased with how I was treated throughout this entire surgical procedure. I would recommend Dr. Aleem and his staff to anyone in need of this type of surgery. They were all very Professional and Courteous,

Fully recovered and very happy
Dr. Aleem was absolutely wonderful. He is direct, but personable. Calmly competent and reassuring. My surgery went as expected/explained to me and I went home the next day. My recovery was slow but just because of the surgery I had. Dr. Aleem made sure I was comfortable during recovery and the team supporting him was quick to respond to messages. Fixed my problem immediately. Absolutely would recommend for any serious orthopedic or spinal surgery. And of course you have the benefits of being at U of Michigan hospital.

Spinal fusion
I had spinal fusion done on 1/3/22. I was up walking with a walker within 3 hours. The first month was pretty painful as this is a major surgery but was not any worse than I expected. During month 2 my sciatic nerve pain started to go away. I did experience some nerve pain in my foot and toes for about a month but that also went away. I’m now on month 3 and feeling much better. I’ve still got a ways to go in my recovery and am getting ready to start physical therapy. Dr Aleem and his team are amazing and I’m very confident with my recovery. For the first time in 16 years I’ve got no sciatic nerve pain!

Horrible PA that works in the office
My daughter was having neck pain and was referred by CIGNA to this doctor. Sadly he was not available so we had to see the PA. She basically offered no help whatsover...no exercises but did take two extras and told us all was okay with her neck. And we got the bill today and were billed by the doctor who we never saw! Very sad!

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Aleem to anyone. I had a herniated disc at C4-C5 causing Cervical Myelopathy. Dr. Aleem removed and replaced my disc. The surgery went textbook perfect and I had a smooth recovery and have gained back everything that was lost due to my herniation. I had no complications as a result from the surgery and will not need any future surgeries to fix. I recovered 100% and back to normal! I am so happy I was with Dr. Aleem!

Dr. Aleem performed my L5-S1 spinal fusion eight weeks ago. I’m out of the scooter and wheelchair and can walk again. Had isthmic spondylolisthesis and now have a titanium enhanced, optimally aligned spine. In the last 6 weeks I walked an average of 4,000 steps a day, with absolutely no nerve pain. The wound healed beautifully, the hardware had no complications, and I could discontinue both oxycodone and acetaminophen by now. Dr. Aleem was available for my questions and concerns in the five months leading up to the surgery, we talked every week in the final three weeks leading up to the day. I wouldn’t have it with anyone else - as a person and as a specialist he worked with me wonderfully. I trusted his assessment and his advice - and he was right about my potential to heal. Dr. Aleem remained available after surgery, his team responded to my questions and concerns after discharge on multiple occasions and he was pleased with the return of my strength and ability to walk on toes!
