Dr. Ioana Stanescu, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Stanescu for over five years. I have found her to be one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. Her prompt diagnosis and treatment plan for my rheumatoid arthritis gave me back the life i had had. She has also always treated me with patience, kindness, and respect.

Dr. Stanescu has been a life saver for me. She has always spent a lot of time with me in appointments, listens carefully, and ask clarifying questions. She has managed my SLE with careful attention and I really trust her! I am not sure where all these negative reviews come from -- other than people seem to dislike a doctor with an accent, or maybe it's that she's a woman. She doesn't coddle, but that's not her job! It's to listen, gather information, and treat a problem. And that she does quite well!

my opinion is you need to give her a chance,I admit I was taken back by her personality and straightforward approach when I first met her.my feeling at the time was at least let me get my jacket off before you decide you dont like me lol.To keep it short she turned out to be a caring and compassionate doctor who did all neccessary xrays and blood work had me return for follow ups and then refered me to a doctor who specializes in my condition.Dr Stanescu is a fine physician.

I saw her twice and won't go back. She was an hour last on the second visit and spent less than 5 minutes with me. She has a strong accent and when I asked her to explain she was very short with me. I wouldn't recommend her.

Dr. Stanescu is an attentive doctor and a great listener. I trust her with all my joint needs. She has invested so much of her time to help improve my symptoms. I highly recommend her!

Not a doctor I would recommend. If she is by some chance a skilled medical doctor whose only problem is a lack of interpersonal abilities, it doesn’t show. In addition to not providing justification for the diagnosis she came up with, she did not discuss any of the evidence based treatments—or for that matte any treatments. Her diagnosis was delivered as she walked out the door. She seems to take all questions as if they are personal affronts. I’m generally easy going and easy to get along with. It’s not my way to write critical reviews. But iI want to make the point that going to see dr. Stanescu is a waste of time medically, and her attitude and general lack of empathy is guaranteed to ruin your day.

She actually read my chart. Put a plan of tests in place. Had x-rays done on the spot. Key for me was “ I believe you” when I told her my symptoms! Gave me a DX on the spot with more tests to be done for further investigation! 5+ stars for me!

If you like sitting in a waiting room for well over an hour at each visit with no explanation or apology, then this is the doctor for you.

She is so condesending and just plain cruel. She doesn't listen to anything. She walked in the room on my follow up visit and said my labs were negative, i said where do we go from here, she literally scoffed and said what's your problem? I got about 3 minutes with her after waiting over an hour to see her and upon checkout i asked the nurse what her dx was and she went to check. While i was in the waiting room checking out i saw her come towards me so thinking she was coming for me i went to ask my question, she seriously put her hand on me and pushed me aside to call in the next patient! Not only was it disrespectful it was humiliating and unprofessional. I will NEVER GO BACK. I'll stay in pain that to give her another dime of my money

I think she is the most thorough and attentive doctor I have ever had. Her office is a bit disorganized, but she personally follows through with her patients, explains tests, She does not use medical assistants and PA s, rather she gives you her full attention. I wish all doctors operated the way she does. You are in excellent hands with her. I no longer see her because my medical problems turned out to be not rheumatological, and I regret that she cannot be my full-time doctor.
