Dr. Ira Guttentag, MD

By the far the worst doctor anyone can seek for treatment. Will ignore you. Will not listen to you. Will treat you as you not worth his time. Has misdiagnosed me. MRI show my issue. Other doctors saw my issue but his ego has blinded him enough to the point he is willing to ruin the rest of your life by simply ignoring you. I even called crying from pain and he denied me medication. I told him where is my pain and he continued to ignore me. New doctor found the issue right away and started treatment. Iam not sure how could someone like that to be in this position. Is is not a doctor. He simply don’t care. Hopefully this will save time and pain for the next patient of his.

I had shoulder surgery with him that wasn't successful. My last visit with him, I told him I was still in pain and his exact words were 'well you know what that means' like I'd know. I told him 'no'. Help them told me I needed a shoulder replacement. So at my appointment today he said he wanted me to get a shot. Which I'm not going to do. And then he tells me he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery because I was young still. Why he didn't tell me that at my last app. Idk. Cost me $45. Which I couldn't afford. Go to him at your own risk.

I had both knees replaced 2 years apart. I found the Dr. and his staff professional and my procedures both went smoothly. His PA Ericka is terrific. The care plan is up to date, as a recently retired RN, I was very pleased. I feel confident in referring to him.

Best doctor,, he did a total revision on my husband. His staff his nurses his PA’s are amazing and compassionate. We started at HSS in NYC and will never return to that cookie cutter hospital.

Insulted myself and my personal doctors, didn’t assess me and my physical state, any of my concerns. Didn’t check my file or look to see anything that had been done prior to this appointment by his own PA. Arrogant and ignorant. Called my team of doctor’s advice stupid and that I should’ve only listened to him with never having seen him before. Worst appointment I have ever experienced with any doctor. Blamed me for lack of communication on his end. Wasted my time.

Dr. Guttentag performed a total knee replacement and alignment on my right knee. I was in pretty bad shape with bone on bone and since I had waited so long, my knee was bent. Dr. Guttentag did an excellent job with my surgery. I am very pleased with the size of scar and I am now pain free when I walk. His Physician assistants are extremely knowledgeable and were great with my follow up appointments. Everything was explained in detail both prior and post surgery. I wouldn't trust anyone else to perform surgery except Dr. Ira Guttentag!

At my visit he told me I had internal bleeding with a blood clot that was possibly from the laser treatment from my other doctor, Valdez. I asked for a MRI to compare to my recent MRI and he refused. When he and Dr. Valdez spoke he told that doctor that I did not have a blood clot or had injury possibly from his laser so when I went to my appointment with Valdez he said Dr. Gutentag said I was lying and manipulating him for treatment so he refused to provide me care. So I called Gutentag back, then he did agree that I possibly had injury from the laser but needed no treatment other than PT and still refused to provide an MRI and hung up on me! I will never see him again!! Such ashame because I absolutely love all the other doctor's I've seen in this office, who take care of the Tampa Bay Lightening. Now I worry he will effect the relationship I have with the other office doctors...

Horrible experience. Does not listen to patient concerns. Fails to complete paperwork for employers in a timely manner when a patient is out of work for surgery resulting in loss of benefits. Lied to my workers comp insurance company after the PA and he sent conflicting information. Poor bedside manner.

Highly recommend.

7 weeks ago at age 85 Dr. Guttentag performed a total knee replacement on my right knee. Dr. Guttentag is totally incredible: his brilliance shines through. He surpassed my expectations. In less than 2 months I am free of pain and have returned to my physically active lifestyle without any tools for assistance. He is the "one in a million" orthopedic surgeon anyone could wish for. Dr. Guttentag deserves the highest recommendation.

I was a work.comp second opinion patient He was uncaring. Never even looked at my knee..told me to retire and lose weight. Then released me..worst dr ever.

Dr, Guttentag is a wonderful Dr. I have seen him several times for knee problems and injuries. Being a Dancer my whole life I was so impressed by him as I have seen many Orthopedic Dr.s'. I also hear so many people that love him. I would not go anywhere else.

Dr. Guttentag did an excellent job in a difficult situation. He had to correct a previous surgery. Can’t even see the scar.

Dr. Guttentag did my ACL revision and repair my lateral meniscus two days ago . I have no words to explain how I feel. He did an outstanding job, my levels of pain are at zero, I could walk with crutches right away and have not even taken pain killers because I don’t need them at all. 100% recommended, he’s definitely what his bio and other reviews say. Dr Guttentag performed a knee replacement on me about fifteen years ago. I can't say enough about his professionalism, skills and bedside manner. He cared about me and my outcome, which was exemplary. I would highly recommend Dr Guttentag.

Dr. Guttentag is, by far, the most amazing surgeon that I have ever gone to!!! I was walking without crutches 2 days after surgery and was able to ride my bike 4 days after surgery. He drained my knee twice and I barely felt the needle. He is so extremely knowledgeable. His staff is amazing as well! I read a few revies about him being arrogant. He is NOT arrogant by any means. Hi is confident. There is a huge difference. As a former All-American tennis player I was always told "If you don't think that you are great, no one else will!" He is great at what he does! There is a reason why he is the Head Team Physican & Medical Director for the Tampa Bay Lightning. I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking to have work done on their knee. I hope to be holding my pickleball paddle soon!

Dr Guttentag was highly recommended by a friend and my experience was exactly as he said. He is a highly skilled and professional surgeon. As this was my first surgery ever, I was a little nervous but Dr. G and his team were excellent from start to finish. My shoulder is back to normal, and the reason; the care, truthful information and attention I received from Dr Guttentag and staff. No need to search for any other surgeon, Dr Guttentag is the best.

Six weeks ago Dr. Guttentag gave me a total knee replacement. Today I am pain free and this whole experience has been positive. Dr. Guttentag and took excellent care of me. In fact, my second knee replacement will happen in a few months. I highly recommend Dr. Guttentag to everyone considering this surgery.

Dr.Guttentag has operated on my rt. knee and rt shoulder and bicep. He does excellent work and knows his stuff. A little dry on the Bedside manner at times. He means well and is a hard working professional. I will use him in the future if needed. Thanks..
