I called for an appointment. He called me back and told me to write down a thorough list of all the medication I’ve been on and my responses. I spent hours doing it. Then I saw him he just skimmed over the list , started asking me questions that I already answered on the list , never took a thorough history, ignored the symptoms I was experiencing at the moments or offering suggestions on how to deal with them and just tells me “ well I’m not gonna lie to you, you have been on everything under the sun and I don’t see you getting better” . if he actually read what I wrote and took a history he would see that his assessment that it was hopeless was wrong, there are things that have helped me and even if he were right what kind of psychiatrist tells a depressed patient that it’s hopeless? He should have kept it to himself. I told him he has no right to tell me it’s hopeless and I stormed out as he just said ok and nodded condescendingly.

Dr. Lipton is the only psychiatrist I trust and I've seen more than 4 in my life. He is very knowledgeable, empathetic, and makes very good decisions when it comes to medication. I've had panic disorder and depression for years and he's helped tremendously. I would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from a mental health issue.

Over the past 25 years I feel fortunate to have benefited from Dr. Lipton's care which has made a significant difference in my life. I find Dr. Lipton to be competent and caring. He always proceeds with conservative treatment and caution, starting medicine on low doses, prescribing regular blood tests, and monitoring the benefit/drawbacks of all medications. At times his counsel to reconsider thoughts about myself and treatment have been very helpful. I recommend Dr. Lipton to others who ask.

Dr Lipton is an excellent caring psychopharmacologist. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for many years and have taken numerous medications, but episodes of major depression kept recurring. When I became Dr Lipton's patient, he changed my regimen of medication (in accordance with my diagnosis that he provided). For the first time, my symptoms were alleviated. I attribute my improvement to Dr Lpton's excellent treatment. I highly recommend him as a psychopharmacologist.

Stubborn, way too cautious, tunes you out if you discuss emotions, no compassion, no flexibility. He should retire already. He's not helping anyone by being a pigheaded jerk. Withholds critical information about new drugs if HE doesn't think they're proven enough even if FDA and medical community do! Ignores your suffering!!!!! Writes in his notes that you're doing fine even if totally untrue. So when you say you've been suffering too long, he looks back and says you felt good last visit.
