Not once but TWICE Dr. Tsui has taken emergency measures to preserve the vision of our special needs son. In 2019 my son suffered a detached retina leaving him totally blind. Dr. Tsui didn't want to wait until Friday to operate and pushed for us to see Dr. Hubschman on Wednesday. Jennifer (her amazing staff) cut through red tape and arranged an emergency surgery at UCLA Wasserman. Vision was saved thanks to their efforts. Now 4 years later my son had yet another incident with that same eye, and again Dr. Tsui and Jennifer moved heaven and earth to get a next day surgery at UCLA Wasserman. Not only that, but Dr. Tsui coordinated with additional eye surgeons to review the entire eye and because of this we were made aware of additional issues that will require our attention. Thankfully, the diagnosis was made before problems set it. I can't thank her her and Jennifer enough for what they have brought to the table. If you get the opportunity to have either Dr Tsui or Dr Hubschman as an eye surgeon just know you are in the best hands possible.

My 11-year old daughter was referred to Dr. Tsui by 3 other opthalmologists in Los Angeles, including another retinal specialist; she came highly recommended by all. They were correct. My husband and I went to the appointment with our daughter and were all treated with respect and dignity, given full disclosure of our daughter's issue (retinal tear) and how it could be safely treated. We went ahead that very same appointment and let the most capable Dr. Tsui take care of her issue. It was painless (laser treatment) and our daughter resumed her usual physical education schedule the very next day. A happy ending to a trek which took us to several doctors and several opinions which led us to UCLA Jules Stein and Dr. Tsui.

Dr. Tsui is an excellent Ophthalmologist. The office staff and technicians are always very warm. Before coming to her, I was receiving painful eye injections from another ophthalmologist and I couldn't believe how painless Dr. Tsui made the experience once I started seeing her. I highly recommend her as an ophthalmologist.

Dr. Tsui is a wonderful human being and a great opthamologist. I have been seeing her for years for macular degeneration and without her, I would be blind right now. I am 82 years old and am still driving thanks to her. That provides me the freedom to enjoy all my grandchildren's sporting events without burdening anyone. It allows me to go to the market and take care of myself. I can't thank her enough and every office visit is a pleasure because of her loving and caring nature. Six Stars!

My optometrist referred me to Dr. Tsui to repair a detached retina. I was quickly and competently evaluated by Dr. Tsui and her team. They immediately scheduled an emergency surgery for me the very same day to repair my retina. My retina was reattached successfully. Dr. Tsui is an excellent, competent opthalmologist. I highly recommend her and her fantastic team. She is a jewel at UCLA Jules Stein Institute.

Irena Tsai is one of the worst doctors I've ever come across. Her bedside manner is absolutely horrible. After waiting an hour inside her office, no one even attempted to come and tell me where she was or when she was coming. She was very rude and cold while scaring her patients with possible diagnoses that are very off. She throws out things that can go wrong with you before even trying to diagnose you and doesn't even about how the patient would react. She was completely wrong too
