Dr. Irene Wakam, MD

Dr. Wakam does not listen to your medical concerns. My son went to her for a follow up from his ER visit for a severe asthma attack. She didn't check his breathing. She didn't use a peak flow meter to test his lungs. She also ignored that his blood pressure was very elevated when this happened to him. She takes your copay and charges your insurance but gives you no solution. The majority of her other reviews are negative. Her staff forgot to relay messages and also was not reliable. We are finding another PCP and would not recommend this doctor.

I had a lung infection that had been going on over a month by the time I made my appointment. I listened to multiple visits through the walls of the office (they're not sound proof), she sent them home every time. She said that I was getting different viral infections from my work and sent me home with nothing. I ended up going to ER because the infection metastasized in my sinuses and was impacting my brain. A week later of antibiotics and I was cured. She causes needless suffering.

Stay away from this Doctor!! Whenever I'd get sick she'd make me feel like a hypochondriac. Go in with a sore throat: it's just a cough. Actually mono. Chest pain? You don't exercise enough. Actually inflammation in my cartilage. Blood in my stool? Probably spotting from skin irritation. Actually Ulcerative Colitis. Her utter lack of actual medical knowledge is disturbing. If I'd been diagnosed at the proper time I might not have lost my colon. Don't let this happen to you! Stay away.

I've been with Dr. Wakam years and have referred many people to her that also like her. She is open-minded she discusses everything she is extremely caring doctor she has even called me at home. I am extremely comfortable with her, she puts me at ease and I feel a friendship with her I am that comfortable with her.
