I always leave feeling informed…
I appreciate a doctor that will take time to hear all my concerns, explain options and answer my questions. Dr Scutaru does that. She also always asks about all my other doctors (specialists) concerns and diagnosis. She pulls everything together and collaborates with me on the best course of action. I appreciate the balance she has of respecting both science and valuing the patient’s (my!) thoughts and opinions about our health and wellbeing. She has also gone above and beyond helping when I had a particularly challenging injury that needed immediate and ongoing attention. As stated by other reviewers the office is very obviously a part of a large business and there are corporate hoops that need to be jumped through, but I have not found them particularly difficult. They have always replied and accommodated me as needed.

Mixed Bag
She's lovely in the office. However, the office follow-up is terrible. My pharmacists are disgusted with them because they never answer or return phone calls. Personally, three times, I've had to call the on-call physician to get a prescription filled that the office told me directly they would call in and didn't. The office staff is marginally friendly, on their good days, surly most of the time.

Terrible business ethics
Terrible place...I've been trying to get an appointment with her for 3-4 months after 2 appointment errors on their end and a reschedule because she needed a day off...and a week before my 4th appointment they tell me they don't take my insurance you'd think I would have been told that after making the very first appointment....I have diabetic ulcers on my foot and been waiting 4 months for someone to take a look at it. Terrible business practices.

I saw Dr Scutaru 2x. She promised to take care of multiple issues, never completed all of them: eg, said she'd refer me for a colonoscopy (recommended at my age) but never did. Cannot get through to staff by phone. Does not reply to messages on website. Referred me to a specialist--2x--after I told her the doc is not on my insurance preferred list. VERY medically conventional: if you can't cut it or give it a pill, she doesn't want to hear it. Never added test results (eg, x-rays) to my chart. Long wait times. Removed me from her service after a major accident without informing me or my insurance company.

I adore & profoundly appreciate Dr. Scutaru! She's the primary care doctor I've been looking for my entire life and finally found. She listens, is patient & excellent. Example: I mentioned at an annual physical that my periods were irregular sometimes, but I thought surely it was just perimenopause. She urged me to get a transvaginal ultrasound, just in case it was instead an abnormal thickening of the uterine lining, which can be precancerous--which is *exactly* what it ended up being. I put off getting that ultrasound for a while, but she kept urging me to get it. I feel she saved my life by doing that (it led to ovarian cancer being found early/removed in time, too), as I think that maybe a different doctor may have just dismissed the irregular periods as being due to my age/onset of perimenopause, as I did. I love her because she recommends things, but doesn't force things on you, UNLESS she really feels strongly. She's very collaborative, which is so important to me. She's great.

I have been a patient of Dr. Scutaru for about 3 years. She is a really nice person and I believe she cares about her patients. In the last few months, however, her office communication has been terrible. In two cases, I had an urgent medical situation but no one answered or returned my call. I went to urgent care to be treated.

Love her. She takes time to address all concerns. Is very thorough and preventative. Only complaint is she spends too much time with patients so book in morning or you will have a wait after lunch of at least 30 minutes. She is very caring doctor.

It was very hard to schedule appointments with this doctor. I often experienced overly long wait times (1-1.5 hours from appointment time), and then would wait again the examination room. I frequently felt rushed and like she wasn't able to get to all of her patients. I also felt that concerns I had were glazed over and brushed off and not adequately addressed or followed up on.
