Dr. Irwin Ruben, MD

I just came upon his contact information in my phone and before I delete it, I have to do what I can to warn people not to go anywhere near this man. Although my one and only visit was in 2016’I still remember it as a very very negative and demeaning experience. When after 15 minutes we both agreed it was not a good fit, he actually made me go to the closest ATM to get $120 in cash and bring it right back to him. Being an honest person, I did this and when I came to his door with the money, he stuck his head out, counted the money and then handed me back $20 I guess out of guilt. His demeanor is that of an evil person, left a bad feeling for 9 years. I hope Karma finds him.

The worst experience I have ever had with a therapist/psychiatrist in my life. This 90-year-old fossil needs to retire. He only cares about money, not about helping people. He even had the nerve to ask me for an extra 10 dollars on top of my copay because rent in Beverly Hills is expensive. He couldn't keep up with a word I said as he clumsily typed on his computer. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because it's not his fault he's old but then when I told him I'm on birth control he responded by saying "you must be promiscuous". This is a seemingly 100-year-old straight white male who has totally lost touch with the reality of what mental health and therapy are supposed to be like in the present day. BEWARE of this arrogant, uncaring, and frankly misogynistic "psychiatrist". It pained me to have to pay him my copay for such a worthless 45 minutes.

So grateful to have met Dr. Ruben and have him as my counselor.

Saw him once and couldn’t believe how uncaring he is. He spent entire time making sure he got my credit card number and insurance info; wanted to keep my card on file; only talked about his extensive cancellation policies; would I be able to pay since I had large deductible...I think we get the picture. He asked almost nothing yet jumped to conclusion that I abuse alcohol. He farted loudly for entire 45 minutes and he’s deaf. He’s lousy. I won’t go back
