Dr. Ivan Samcam, MD

Dr. Samcam is direct in explaining a situation or procedure. He listens and answers questions. He has been helping me for over a year get relief for a painful situation. He explores the pros and cons of various options. I have been very pleased with him and his staff.

Dr Samcam and his staff were courteous and caring. They listened and asked the pertinent questions. Glad I found him.

I’ve never been to this doctor, but I heard good things about him. I wasn’t disappointed he gives answers to any questions you might have he seems very confident and competent also his nurse Jennel is wonderful and has a good sense of humor

Dr. Samcam listens to what you are saying, does a thorough exam, asks you questions, tells you in terms you understand what is wrong, and very clearly explains what your options are and what you can expect to help and how.

Doctor listens carefully and understands your issues. He is knowledgeable of alternative pain treatments and performs most procedures himself. I recommend him for back pain and treatment.

Dr. Samcam was relieving my pain completely, but then on my third visit for a shot of cortisone, he said. This time I’m doing an ablation of the nerve, so I never returned. If he would have explained with pictures and explanations why he thought an ablation would be needed and asked my opinion, I may have proceeded. Patients should be given explanations why a doctor wants to destroy a nerve, as well as a full understanding of side effects. He just said he was going to do the ablation of the nerve.

I’m a retired (25) yr law enforcement agent. I have sustained many injuries throughout my career. Post retirement my neck has deteriorated to the point where I’ve been in pain EVERYDAY for the past 6 years. I was referred to Dr. Sancam by my neurosurgeon and I’m excited to report that I’m am finally PAIN FREE. Thank you to Dr. Samcam and his staff John and Janelle. Forever grateful!

Despite a busy practice, Dr. Samcam makes one feel that he has plenty of time to explain his methods, he has shown and demonstrated on my MRI the issues that are of concern and explains how his procedure will help mitigate the problem. He’s very optimistic in his explanation and sympathetic to what my issues are. I feel he’s one of the very best pain doctors I have ever been to.

He’s real! Patient and understanding. Clearly explains what’s going on in your body that is causing the pain and comes up with several possible solutions.

I was highly recommended to see Dr. Samcam, a Pain Specialist. The office staff and nursing assistants were very polite, knowledgeable and exceptionally personable. As for Dr. Samcam he was very patient with me and explained what needed to be done to alleviate the strong pain I had in my legs. Next step: Epidural. Appointment set: Pain Gone.

When you've done CBT, acupuncture, biofeedback, physical therapy, chiropractor, a laying on of hands ceremony by a priest, and cortisone injections and you still have uncontrolled pain, this doctor still thinks long term narcotic pain medication is ludicrous. He examines you for 2 minutes, doesn't listen to you, doesn't document your complaints, doesn't read the extensive documentation required you give before he sees you. I don't believe he knows what he's looking at in the images you've provided. MRI, CT, and X-rays. Office staff asks you over and over if you smoke and your list of medications. They do not document this and or only document part of it. They do not update this. They say they do, but that is not reflected in the after-visit summary or when you check back in the patient portal. Stay away from this office. It is not safe to put yourself in their hands. Also, his X-ray Tech needs to be careful how loud he speaks. He sounded like he was in bar with the regular F bombs.

I've been seeing Dr Samcam for over a year on and off. He had me start w physical therapy, before returning to my neurosurgeon. I had to have a cage put in my lower back. He's been helping me work through sacrum pain. Dr Samcam is tops! He is kind, considerate, does not steer you towards medications etc. He and his staff, Janelle and John are amazing as well. After meeting all of them, I've never gone in to see him nervous. He gets to the root of the problem!! He's the only PM Dr that I would ever go too.

Recommended an action plan and showed concern for me
