Dr. J Luttrell, MD

If you are going to be working in a hospital setting you need empathy. Dr. Luttrell lacked even the slightest amount of kindness. I was in an accident where I sustained severe facial trauma. He yelled, and rushed me out of the ER , denied my request for an XRay or head scan and was extremely dismissive. Refused to give me a break when administering nerve shots of lidocaine in my mouth, told me “you are just delaying the inevitable”. He yelled at me when I pulled away out of pain, when I was already in a vulnerable and traumatic state. Did not give any IV with pain medication or attempt to get me in contact with someone willing to help. He let me leave with blood still dripping out of my mouth and shotty stitches which will need to be revised. Treated me horribly, assumingely because I am a young girl in college, until my mom arrived two hours later. Went to a separate ER, where they diagnosed me with multiple fractures in my face and I received pain management medication.

I brought my son in for a suspected hernia. Luttrell conducted an examination without explaining what he was doing and caused him extreme pain. He was the rudest, most dismissive, and unprofessional “doctor” I have ever seen. If he walks into your exam room, don’t even let him touch you. Just ask for someone else.

Dr. Luttrell was rude and dismissive. Did not listen to my complaint and sent me home after a very brief ER visit (19 minutes) with a stomach virus. I actually had appendicitis. Had he cared enough to do a more thorough workup my outcome would have been different. Why practice medicine if you don't care about your patients? Why not order tests to make sure everything is ok? It's clear not only does he not like his job but he is also not very good at it.

I developed bronchitis. I've had it 3x before. Have gotten medication and it cleared up. This dr. refused any medication. Said it was viral bronchitis yet did no sputum test to determine if viral or bacterial. Told me I would have bronchial cough for 2 weeks maybe a month! I asked him to look up past UCHealth Dr. prescription I received. He just walked out of room. Never came back. a nebulizer. Breathing not the problem! Needed meds for bronchial cough. I'm 75. Don't want to develop into pneumonia.

I was visiting from out of state and unfortunately required a trip for urgent treatment and was treated by Dr. Luttrell at Poudre Valley Hospital. He was courteous, friendly, informative, and professional. It could not have gone better. I was equally impressed with all of the staff as well. In the first section below, I am grading the hospital emergency experience, not office.
