Dr. Jack Shao, MD

Dr. Shao put me at easy from the very first moment I met him. My cataracts were a little different on my left eye because I had just had radiation for a melanoma tumor behind my retina and i was almost blind in that eye. Dr. Shao reassured me that would not be an issue. I had my surgery on both eyes now and I'm living in a new world of brightness instead of my gray shadow world from before. I'd recommend him to anyone needing cataract surgery. He and his staff were the best. While I was anxious to be done it's also bittersweet because of the care and understanding you receive from Dr. Shao and the Cole Eye Center.

Upon meeting Dr. Shao, I knew he would be the best Surgeon for me. I was a little bit afraid before hand because I'm an artist and my eyes were really failing me and I didn't know what to expect. He is a very professional respectful, kind gentleman with the knowledge and confidence I had hoped for. Once he did my first eye, I couldn't wait to get the other one done. He explained my options, the procedure and after care and everything was exactly as he described. I can't say enough for his confidence, expertise, gentle nature and so on. I have never met a doctor quite like him...and more should only be like Dr. Shao. He opened my whole world of vision and I'm so extremely grateful I had the pleasure of meeting with him.

Dr Shao is a kind and caring doctor who listens to his patients. He is always courteous, everyone in his office says he is the same with his staff as he is with his patients. He has preformed 3 eye surgeries on me and each one has been made a tremendous difference for me ... this will not allow me to enter 5 stars on every level for him but he certainly deserves 5 stars on everything. Thank you Dr Shao for everything you have done for me and my troubling eyes ... you are the best!

Dr. Shao is the consummate professional! He treats his patients with respect and dignity and answers all questions they pose. Dr. Shao explains things exceptionally well, is polite, and never condescending. He’s friendly and clearly enjoys his profession.

Dr. Jack Shao and his entire team at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute are wonderful! This isn’t a 5 star team – it’s a 10 star team! I needed to have cataracts removed, and after extensive research, I kept finding recommendations for the same ophthalmologist: Dr. Jack Shao and his amazing team! Driving to Cleveland from Pennsylvania, I was apprehensive and not looking forward to the procedure, but both Dr. Shao and his team provided top-notch care and exceeded all my expectations. They did an unbelievable job on my eyes, so I highly recommend Dr. Shao and his team!

I had a mechanical injury to my eye and called the Cole Eye Institute early the following morning and got an appt. right away. While waiting in the exam room, Dr. Shao, peeked in, introduced himself and said he'd be back to see me soon. He is kind and has a wonderful disposition. He explained everything about my eye issue. Truly pleasant, caring and knowledgeable!
