Great Rheumatologist, but Now Retired
Dr. Waxman was great. He diagnosed my condition and provided treatment options for me that he carefully explained, one of which I am still using today. He also helped me to figure out which other specialists I should see for some coexisting conditions I had at the time. When I had questions, he was willing and able to discuss them with me in a friendly and open manner. He did not always agree with me, nor I with him, but his expertise and help were important to me. However, after over fifty years of service to the health community, he is now enjoying his retirement, and I assume having some long-awaited fun. Good for you, Dr. Waxman!

Dr. Waxman is in a class by himself. He is the most informed Rheumatologist, etc. I have ever found. I was diagnosed as having Rheumatoid Arthritis over 20+ years ago and was being treated for such. After moving to northern California a few years ago I went to Dr. Waxman and found out I DO NOT have Rheumatoid but Lupus. They are all in the same family but this is a much easier disease for me. Dr.Waxman might not have the best bedside manner but he is a terrific diagnostician. I would give him 10 stars if possible.

My daughter came threw the door in tears after her visit with Dr. Waxman. Apparently his treatment of women in their 20s leaves a great deal to be desired. From telling her what she should wear to not understanding the nature of her injuries (symmetry of knee pain from play water polo) he just continue to provide the worst experience she has ever had with a physician. I cannot recommend Dr. Waxman.

I just have to leave a positive review because I was SO put off by the previous negative reviews left for Dr. Waxman. I had my first consult yesterday and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and attentive. He was very approachable and answered all my questions. Thank you, Dr. Waxman and staff - I look forward to future visits.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was the worst physician I have ever encountered. I was referred to him due to testing positive for a few autoimmune markers. Not only did he not listen to what I had to say, but he was also fixated on the fact that I did not use anything for pain and kept obsessing about me needing to take pain meds. It was completely underwhelming to have waited months to see such an unhelpful doctor. I suggest looking elsewhere if you need a rheumatologist.

Absolutely the worst experience with this Dr. I already have a dx and was seeking further treatment for a secondary and uncontrolled autoimmune disease. I asked to have a very specific set of blood tests to figure out how we could treat my condition Dr waxman declined stating my bloodwork didn’t warrant the test and I had fibromyalgia & needed more sleep - would not listen to my concerns, and told me on my next visit to wear a skirt for easier joint examination-I wore compression leggings

Dr. Waxman is the perfect example of everything wrong with the American "health care." I saw him for treatment for suspected lupus. It took over nine months for his staff to follow up on a basic referral. He never asked a question about medical history he didn't know, preferring to stereotype me. He belitted and mansplained everything. When I tried to interject answers to his "questions" he yelled over me. When challenged he could only blame by PCP for being incompetent rather than listenting.

His bedside manners are lacking. I thought he was rude. He is certainly not a compassionate doctor. I left his office feeling like the visit was a total waste. Needless to say, I never went back. You

My experiences with Dr. Waxman have been outstanding in every way. He is an expert regarding osteoporosis and management of sarcoidosis, an auto-immune disorder that is rare and it has been hard to find a doctor who knows much about it, so I was very relieved to find that Dr. Waxman knew exactly what it was and what tests to order to monitor it and how to wean me off prednisone. He also has great, personable bedside manner. His nurses are wonderful, too. I wholeheartedly recommend him!
