I came here to look at reviews, just like you. The positive comments seen are absolutely true. Starting with the kind and caring office and nursing staff, the first visit with Dr Wecowski was wonderful. Everyone said he takes the time to listen and answer all of your questions without feeling rushed. This was so true, since I came in with a bunch of them. He put me completely at ease for my hernia surgery, and he has a great compassionate bedside manner. He carefully explained everything and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure. My surgery was complicated, but his expertise as a surgeon was only matched by how much he is patient focused. The surgery was a success due to his care. I feel blessed and grateful to have found Dr Wecowski.

Staff was very friendly, excellent instructions and followup. Dr Wecowski spent considerabletime explaining the procedure, instructions after. Everything went as planned. I was extremely pleased with everyone and everything.

My mother had pancreatic cancer. I wanted to go to a high volume surgical center like Tampa. My parents preferred Ocala. Dr Wecowski had training with the top laparoscopic surgeons in the country in Tampa. This swayed me against pushing. The surgery intended to remove the tumor went poorly. The tumor was inoperable. A minimally invasive procedure was converted to an open procedure and a palliative bypass was made to relieve the obstruction between her stomach and small intestine. My Dad and I had requested to be kept informed. We were waiting for surgery updates. The surgery took far longer, and when we called, the nurses gave us no information about what was happening. After surgery, my mom initially was ok. But soon her pain became unbearable. The post operative care was sub standard. As a veterinary surgeon I was shocked. 3 years later I am haunted by the pain she undured. Dr W detached from her care and never connected with us after her pain became intense. Then she died.

I originally went in for gallbladder removal. I was scared but he was very calming and reassured me that it would be okay. Unfortunately, at the time of surgery, Dr. Wecowski discovered a problem with my liver. He was unable to remove my gallbladder but took a biopsy of my liver instead. I ended up with cirrhosis of the liver caused by my diabetes. He was so thoughtful and caring in his presentation of this news as well as his concern for me. He took time to answer all of my questions and did so in a very personable manner. I highly recommend Dr. Wecowski.

My husband saw Dr. Wecowski in Feb 2020 due to cancer of the bile duct. Dr Wecowski performed a Whipple surgery robotically. He has been wonderful with my husband and myself during a very difficult time with the very complicated surgery and the corona virus situation. He conferenced with me when he visited my husband in the hospital when I could not be there due to the lock down. When I could not conference call, he would call me and talk with me about my husband's progress. My husband is recovering well from this complicated surgery. Both my husband and I really like him and would not hesitate to recommend him. If I ever need surgery, I would go to him. His staff are all great and they always get back to me. They are courteous and friendly both in person and on the phone. You won't go wrong choosing Dr Wecowski for your surgery.
