I miscarried. Dr. Means immediately suggested a D&C or medical abortion. It is standard to “remove the tissue” and minimize risk of infection. I understand and accept all of this. We felt rushed to schedule which made my husband uncomfortable. Surgery day: anesthesiologist and nurses were kind which put me at ease. I was put under. Dr Means completed the procedure and I came to. They asked if I could stand and I tried. Then I felt blood rush down my legs and blacked out. I was hemorrhaging. When I came to again, they just asked if I was “fine” and ushered me into a wheelchair and out the door. I barely made it into our car. I should have received a blood transfusion. That night I ate red meat for the first time in 15 years. My husband scared and begged me to. I was not able to stand upright for a week. I crawled around my home on my hands and knees. I would not see her for any non “normal” pregnancy or surgeries. I never felt her warmth and compassion and I should have trusted my gut.

Just kept cutting
I came in with bleeding for almost 11 months. Doctor means did not run common tests for this type of bleeding, such as checking for a blood disorder. She rushed my surgery date saying something about another patient not being prepared to pay for hers. Over the course of 3 weeks, she performed 3 surgeries and I continued to bleed after each. Turns out that I have a blood disorder that is commonly checked with bleeding like mine. Instead, Dr. Means risked my life and just kept performing more surgeries. I kept bleeding. Her nurse raised her voice at me accusing me of not resting. Dr. means suggested I was having sex after a hysterectomy. I missed 5 months of work. I am still doing IV iron and hematology appointments every 3 months a year after this mess. Dr means told me she wishes she could just perform surgeries and not see patients. She shouldn’t do either. In addition to this, no more orgasm thanks to all of these surgeries. Do not see this doctor.

I highly recommend Dr. Jacquelyn Means for all of your OBGYN needs! I started seeing her before I even thought about a baby and she just delivered my first. She is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, patient, kind, and has the most wonderful nurses. She's careful to answer all questions and treats you like you're the most important patient she has. I can't say enough wonderful things about her.

Dr. Means was nice but after 2 years of chronic issues she was not able to help me. Her support staff is absolutely terrible. Every single time I went in they tried to make me pay out of pocket for something that my insurance assured me was covered. When I would relay that information to her billing department they didn't seem to care at all or want to take the time to refile with insurance correctly as they were told to. Terrible at getting back in contact with you and Dr. Means nurse was very rude, short, and just flat out didn't seem to care that I was in pain and discomfort for almost 2 years. Never going back and I recommend you find somewhere else as well. Not for Dr. Means but for the sake of having to deal with her support staff. Absolutely not worth the hassle, hours of follow up phone calls, etc., just because the support staff is too lazy to do their job.

Dr. Means was recommended to me by my sister, who is a labor and delivery nurse. Dr. Means delivered my second child via c-section and it was such a better experience and recovery than my first. Not only that but she made the entire pregnancy a very calm experience. I would highly recommend.

Absolutely awesome! She’s a wonderful physician, empathetic and loving. It feels like you are speaking g to a sister or a friend. Maintains records very well and is very very knowledgeable. She admitted me on an emergency basis although I was very reluctant and thought nothing was wrong with me. Turned out that if she hadn’t been so thorough and professional me and my baby both would’ve died. She saved my life and that of my then unborn son’s as well. Highly professional and very knowleda.

She's so personable and very understanding about my preferences for a natural birthing experience. I switched providers at 37 weeks because I moved to a new area and she was quick to build a relationship with me.

-Waited an hour for her to see me. -Spends little time explaining procedures or concerns to me. Barely addresses any concerns I have. -Staff rarely calls to give test results. -Disorganized. They made me fill out the same paperwork on separate visits. Do they even have a file for me? Or do they make it up as we go?
