Dr. Jaime Furman, MD

Dr. Furman gives Memorial Health a bad name. My dad went to him and was very sick, He did NOTHING for him. Blew us off. We tried to call back for medical advice and he was rude and didn't even remember seeing my dad only 2 weeks prior. He avoids calls and his nurse is just as rude trying to cover for his lack of respect for patients. We ended up in the hospital and I told multiple doctors about our experience and they ALL said to stay far away from him. I recommend any of the other 3 doctors in that practice, who are all great including their nursing staff who are beyond helpful. Don't let his quick appt schedule fool you, he was avail next day, b/c no one wants to see him. You may wait 3 weeks for an appt w/ another doc, but they are worth the wait. Ironically, he supposedly is a sleep study expert and he ordered one on dad and it showed he needed a bipap machine. He still denied us the machine which dad needs to live and told us to go to ER for it. Stay far away from this doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Furman since 2015 , he got my sleep apnea diagnosed and on a C-pap , to me he’s a really good doctor , very caring , asks questions , l drive a ways to see him because l don’t want to change doctors.

Takes his time with patients. Seems to run behind schedule because of that. His medical assistant is also very knowledgeable & friendly

Waited over an hour to be seen. Bedside manor could use some improvements. I'll be searching for a new dr

Have ResMed AirSense10. Mfg says pressure is too high but they can’t change without approval from the doctor. Have called dr a couple of times and leave message each time with office staff. Over a month and can’t get call back.

Every time I've had an appointment he is off schedule by 1 hour or longer. He speeds through the visit much too fast for this type of specialty. He has office time management issues, this is a recurring problem based on chatting with others in the waiting room and from my personal experience. Our time is valuable as well.

I was in and out of the exam room so fast I found myself wondering what just happened? He read me the results of my Cat Scan, which I provided and already knew what it said. He asked me no questions and was already leaving the room as i was trying to tell him my symptoms and ask questions.. Then they told me to come back in 4 months.. I will not be going back.

He is very well versed with the COPD Exacerbation Disease. He has been my Dr since 2011. I had COPD was admitted to Viera Hospital. He was Pulmonary Dr call to take care of me.

Had to wait more than 2 hours each of the 3 times I visited. I agree with previous review indicating patients referred to a sleep test lab with which he is affiliated with.

I hate to write a poor review but in this case that is what is deserved. Was referred to Dr. Furman for sleep issues. First visit waited over an hour and when I presented my very specific issues he wouldn't listen. Said I just had to learn to sleep better. Had a sleep study at a lab that he is the director of. Went in for a review of the study and he had not even read it yet. And again a lengthy wait. I did find out what the problems was, but not from him. Will not use him again.

Excellent clinician, listens to the patient, if he suspects non-pulmonary problems he addresses it & refers to a specialist if necessary. The doctor & the staff are caring. & understanding.
