Dr. Jaimini Chauhan-James, MD

During the first appointment with this charlatan I tried to tell her that me mother died very recently. My mother had Alzheimer's and I was her primary caregiver so I wanted to let her know that my depression was worse because I am grieving the most important person in my life. Her response to me was that she really wasn't interested in talking to me, and preceded to cut one of my depression meds in half. During the second visit she told me that she wanted to stop that medication altogether and would not listen to me at all when I said that I didn't think that was a good idea because I was extremely depressed. Needless to say I am switching immediately to another doctor. Please do not entrust your mental health to this person. I cannot believe that she is even allowed to practice medicine.

My first visit with Dr. Chauhan was wonderful and I felt like she had the expertise I had been looking for. My follow-up appointments have not been great - she was about 10 minutes late for both follow-ups, leaving little time to discuss medication updates/concerns while I still have to pay for the whole appointment time. I told her a medication she prescribed was negatively affecting my sleep and her response was that the medication doesn't affect sleep at all - I had previously googled the medication + "sleep side effects" and found many studies saying insomnia is a common side effect. I insisted on a different medication. I believe if you see her, you really need to feel comfortable advocating for yourself and be direct about your needs. After three visits, I have chosen to continue searching instead of settling with Dr. Chauhan.

Refuses to actually listen to her patients speak because she's too busy cutting them off trying to prove a point.
