Leaves a lot to be desired
I've been a patient for over 10 years. The staff has gotten better, but they are not thorough, nor do they offer cooperation in problem solving. I've never been weighed or had my blood pressure tested. I've never had my injection sites or feet examined. I do have hypothyroidism, but he only seems to be concerned with the diabetic pump. They upload my pump info and test my HBAIC. Then Dr Hammoud will adjust my pump if necessary. Communication is difficult and getting through to office staff can be a nightmare. Medtronic Reps are usually there, and they are more helpful than the doctor or his staff.

Dr. Hammond is an ok physician. What makes the doctor/patient experience bad is his front office staff. They’re extremely rude! This would be the reason I would not recommended anyone to visit the office. The receptionist and lady in charge of medication refills is horrible!

Waiting game
I've been seeing Dr. Hammoud for a fee years now. If my insurance would pay for my pump supplies without seeing him I definitely wouldn't. Good doctor but when scheduled a 930am appointment I don't see doctor until 1130 sometimes even as late as 12. Not a bad doctor just has no respect for anyone's time mise well call in and take a whole day off work if you have to see him.

Stay Away!
Telehealth
This doctor was assigned to me when I was initially diagnosed with type-1 diabetes. His office nearly sent me back to the hospital after I was released from the ICU (and the typical floor). The doctor's office did not fill my script (including insulin), which I desperately needed at the time (and still do), and sent me home left to my own devices. The doctor had to go to his office and fill out the script immediately after I called his service. It hit too close to home, and I was not impressed with his staff. The doctor might be good, but his staff will undoubtedly send you in a medical emergency (as far as I am concerned, and in the reviews for his office). I never had the chance to deal with the doctor, but I saw him (as I was in and out of conscientiousness-DKA), and I felt he was 'o.k.' regarding his care. But he needs to do something about his office staff. Evidently, they are the 'grim reapers,' and they don't care about their patients.

Over all a good doctor!
I have been a patient of Dr. Hammoud’s since 2000. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer that year, within 2 weeks I was scheduled for surgery and the care I got from him was amazing. Anytime I call for my meds it’s done in a timely manner. I try not to wait last minute to call for refills. Dr Hammond actually saw a difference in my thyroid levels after my blood test and called to let me know we might need to lower my medicine. In 23 yrs I have never had an issue with the staff. The wait times are a bit long but it’s the same everywhere.

One of the worst doctors I have ever been to. The other negative reviews cover my feelings toward this man. I'm sure they're all overwhelmed with the amount of patients, but after a recent move out-of-state I have not heard back from this doctor about transferring my script. This is INSULIN. I am nearly out, and there was a note left at his office THREE weeks ago, with no response. When I called, I was treated poorly over the phone by whomever I was speaking to telling me that they could not leave a note for him because "doctor's orders". This is literally an emergency, but apparently my life doesn't matter to this poor excuse of a human being.

Would give zero stars but it won’t let me. He gives no attention to patient patterns, Contradictory prescription history and focuses only on writing the script and moving on. He is good at one thing, burning through that script pad. If that’s all you want in an endo, he is your guy. That’s all I wanted until I was diagnosed with a new autoimmune disease and needed a critical thinking doctor.

I worked at this office for 3 days. I left when I was told I talked too much to patients. This office is more concerned with volume of patients then quality of care. Patients requesting refills may be waiting a week! IF they answer the phone it’s “doctor’s office”. They keep the front desk window closed with a sign that reads “don’t knock on glass we see you” how rude right?....it gets better! I worked almost 30 hours (3rd day on my own) AND they never paid me! Unprofessional, don’t recommend

Been trying to get someone to pick up the phone for over 7 days now. Left going on 10 messages. Just hung up on once. My husband has been without insulin for 3 days now. He is type 1. Still no answer. Called Hurley Hospital they are trying to find someone else to help us. Dietetics is nothing to mess with. It's life or death!!!

Worst staff ever. Have been trying get an appointment for over a month after having information sent over from my primary doctor twice (bc they didn’t receive them the first time). I was told i would be contacted by your office once that information was received by your staff and I have never heard from them. I, on the other hand, have made numerous calls to set something up an appointment and have left multiple messages (again never received a return phone call). Tried again today- no luck.

The office staff is among the most rude and unpleasant I have ever witnessed. Dr hammoud endocrinologist hear anything that you have to say. I have seen many endocrinologist over the years including Pediatric Endocrinology because my daughter is a type 1 diabetic. I have never seen in endocrinologist that does not check your injection sites, your feet, listen to any of your concerns. This doctor doesn't even weigh you they push you in and out like cattle.

While it was a long wait in the waiting room and the office staff was less than attentive, the Dr. Hammoud did take his time to answer my questions and address my concerns directly. After seeing two specialists prior to him he was the first to take the time and listen and come up with a treatment plan I could live with.

His receptionist in the lapeer office is rude and blames her mistakes on the nurse. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and had to ask if there was a problem she never registered me. She is a JOKE... I had the worst experience in that office. That was my first visit and it will be my last. The whole time she sat at her desk and ate Munchos Chips!!!!!!

I was very impressed with the time Dr. Hammoud took to answer questions I had about my condition and explain his recommendation for treatment. I felt as if he listened to what I had to say and allowed me many opportunities to find out more about said treatment. Would certainly recommend him to others.
