Dr. James Broome, MD

I love Dr. Broome so much! He was such a great doctor, and I trust him very much. I highly recommend him to everyone. He is always available to call, and he was a great listener.

Dr. Broome was kind, professional, and thorough while explaining in depth the surgical plan for my thyroid cancer with spread to neck lymph nodes. During a worrisome time, he was compassionate and reassuring. This alone would be impressive, but his skill as a surgeon is unmatched. My surgery was a complete success, with none of the possible adverse conditions (temporary or permanent vocal cord damage, shoulder injury, damage to parathyroid glands). I was blessed with a remarkable recovery, with minimal scarring despite the expansiveness of the surgery. I would recommend Dr. Broome again and again. So very grateful to have found him, and to have him here in Tennessee.

We could never have felt like we were in better hands throughout the process of me (30 y/o, F) having a total thyroidectomy due to Graves’ Disease. Dr. Broome answered every single question and then some. He never once made us feel rushed or that we weren’t a priority for him. We can’t speak highly enough of him as a doctor and a surgeon. Zero complications resulting from the surgery and one night in the hospital. Thank you, Dr. Broome and team!

Dr. Broome is far and away one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He performed a thyroidectomy on me, and everything went well. He spends plenty of time explaining all the details of the surgery and what to expect. By the time he finished, I don't think I even had any questions to ask. He is an exceptionally kind and compassionate doctor. He never makes you feel rushed, he emphasizes that he is always there to answer any concerns you might have -- even after the surgery is over and you have been released. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Broome to anyone. Excellent experience, exceedingly fine man. AND his staff is great as well, and that makes a huge difference to a patient.

Dr. Broome is by far one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He handled my care during a thyroid cancer diagnosis and thyroid removal. He explained everything in detail, made sure all of our questions were answered and is probably one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. You can tell he really cares about his patients and their wellbeing. His assistant is also wonderful, she is very caring and helpful. I can’t recommend Dr. Broome more highly, he is definitely one of the best!

Dr. Broome was generous with his time, he provided multiple opportunities to ask questions, he made a drawing of the procedure and pointed out things that caused him concern. My anxiety plummeted from well over 100% to about 3%. A biopsy scheduled for another week in another facility, he was able to take today. The biopsy was less of an ordeal than numbing for a filling at the dental suite.

Dr. Broome spent so much time listening to our concerns and plenty of time explaining the problem, the potential risks of surgery, the surgery process complete with drawings to help us understand. We never felt rushed, he gave so many opportunities to ask questions. Highly recommend this surgeon.

Dr. Broome performed life-saving surgery on a rare pheochromocytoma that had been causing a lot of problems and taking a long time to diagnose through several years. I was recommended and accepted. He started right away getting my b.pressure down in less than a month and performing the surgery. I am extremely grateful to him and to Shamice, his nurse assistant for their professionalism and caring.
