Will not be returning after consult!
I went in for an initial consult for my 2 yr old and the possibility of getting tubes. I immediately regretted getting Dr. Chuang as our doctor at this facility. Immediately he started talking over me even though he’d ask me questions. I could barely get a word in and all he cared about was getting in and out of that appt and on with the next patient. I didn’t feel heard at all and finally when he asked if I had questions, he framed it as “do you have any questions that me, a trained doctor should answer or can I have my nurse come in”. Horrible. Never coming back.

See someone else
I want to warn others not to come here based on my experience. The doctor was the problem here. He is terrible. I have seen at least 50 doctors, and none has been as unprofessional and unhelpful as this one. I never leave reviews so this experience took a lot for me to say this. He was condescending, speaking over me while I tried to ask simple questions indicating he didn't care to hear what I had to say, and at one point even said 'We need to hurry this up I need to see my next patient' after he had dominated the conversation. Zero empathy. He also told lots of useless stories about how other people he had seen with cauliflower ear considered it a 'badge of honor' in his attempts to talk me into leaving it alone. I immediately went to a different ENT practice (Canyon Sky ENT) and they were a completely different experience. They fixed my ear perfectly instead of trying to talk me into leaving it mangled. I should have taken the time to read the reviews. Lesson learned.

Displayed his Temper with me
Recently meet with Dr. Chuang regarding my previously diagnosed deviated septum. Have tried various alternatives to surgery but it seems to be getting worse and feel it's time for corrective surgery. During my visit his demeanor and volume of his speech became louder and louder. I was shocked that he was actually yelling at me on all the functions and experiences of the surgery that I will be going through. Being a physical male nothing intimidates me but I was taken back and surprised, have never had a physician be remotely aggressive with me. I actually thought to be aggressive back but I will hold back if possible. As our meeting wound down he brought me papers for my current doctor to sign off for surgery. Looking back at his demeanor there is no possible way I would have Dr. Chuang do a Septoplasty on me and I will never go back. This guy must have issues going on in his life for this outburst. This is the first 1-Star review I have ever written.

Smart doctor, extremely rude
My visit started with me waiting over an hour to be seen. After going through a variety of tests, Dr. Chuang told me that nothing was wrong with my ears even though I explained I was feeling pressure constantly. He continuously patronized me and talked to me like I had an IQ of 10. He is clearly very intelligent but if symptoms don’t exactly match his expectations, he becomes extremely dismissive and unhelpful. I left feeling stupid and with no answers.

He won't listen to you AT ALL
I went in for a chronic allergy and deviated septum problem. He speaks at a billion miles per hour and once he ASKS you to speak, he gives you 5 seconds to answer, not letting you go into detail or add more. He talked over both me and my grandma every single time we tried to add input or ask questions to try and shut us up. He is very knowledgeable but it means nothing if you're overwhelming your patients and not letting them ask questions. He would go on and on about a subject without breathing for 10 minutes, meanwhile he was wasting his breath because he wouldn't listen to us or let us speak. He missed so many of my symptoms, didn't let me properly ask questions. I left his office so confused with no real helpful info for my specific situation. He was 50 minutes late, then like 10 times, mentioned how he had mad patients and couldn't spend more time with us, when we barely talked! It was so overwhelming the moment he left the office I hyperventilated and cried. In complete awe.

Below Average
I think that the main issue with this provider is that he definitely follows an algorithm in his own mind; that, if all questions posed are accurately answered will definitely lead him to the correct or accurate diagnosis. Unfortunately, this leaves little room during history taking that could shed light onto things that he himself had not even considered. This is an epic fail as a clinical practitioner. I, myself, am trained at the doctoral level in medicine as well; but, I did not tell this practitioner because I wanted him to view me as a patient without special knowledge. This also allows me to access my own medical care going forward. He comes off as impatient, tone deaf and he has no patience for questions from the patient. He is rushed and rudely runs out of the room upon completion of his exam with the patient. I mean it is rude; beyond rude. Just opens the door and RAPIDLY walks off. His clinical expertise may be excellent; but, the bedside manner is a real zero.

Thyroid Nodules - Go Elsewhere
I was referred to Dr. Chuang for a long standing nodule on my thyroid. The initial consult had him more excited about my deviated septum than my thyroid nodule. He referred me off for a guided FNA biopsy. I eventually had to get two biopsies as neither provided any useful results. During my follow-up with Dr. Chuang I wanted his expertise on why these biopsies had gone wrong and why he referred me to Dr. Glenn Rothman at AOC Physicians. Dr. Chuang admitted that he was no longer doing thyroid surgeries as he dropped below the professional floor of at least five per year. He further noted that in professional training conferences he no longer attends any on thyroids, thus his expertise in the subject is at least five years out of date and no longer current. Just WOW! Given that, why the heck did he ever bother to see me?My recommendation:If you have an issue with thyroid nodules skip Valley ENT and Dr. Chuang and go straight to AOC Physicians and Dr. Rothman. You won't regret it.

Disappointing experience
I recently visited Dr. Chuang and hoped the practice would be professional and compassionate. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. It felt like he was in a rush to see the next patient and disinterested in explaining the concerns and suggesting the treatment options, leaving me feeling confused and frustrated. I felt very disrespected during the consultation and seemed he was merely going through the motions, ticking off boxes on a checklist rather than genuinely engaging with me as a patient. I wouldn't recommend this practice to others seeking compassionate and competent medical care.

Consistently Thorough & Caring
I’ve been a patient of Dr Chuang for over 3 years and his care, concern and thoroughness has not changed. He listens then shares what he believes could be occurring and then makes a recommendation and provides his honest opinion when asked. As a cancer patient this is huge because it eliminates the need for me to have to advocate for myself as the patient. Trust me, constant advocating gets frustrating. Dr Chuang outweighs all options and then supports your next steps. He explains things so thoroughly, I never leave confused. I walk out knowing there’s a plan and I’m in good hands. From itchy ears and tonsil stones to tinnitus and TMD related ear pain, Dr. Chung has helped me with all! I have great confidence in this practice also, because their physician referral sheet has 5 doctors I’ve been seeing for years who are outstanding. That has definitely solidified my confidence in the care I receive here.

Office visit
At first I thought no way can this be my Dr. He does come off a bit odd,but he 100% addressed my issue. I had been to pcp , dentist and no one had an answer, but he did. He does talk a lot,but gives you a chance to ask your questions. Look past the exterior he is a great dr. I recommend him.

Terrible
Terrible bed side manner. Extremely disappointed in the lack of engagement with the young patient. Failed to ask him questions about how he was feeling or any of his symptoms. Felt very rushed, annoyed to answer any parent questions, and appeared like you had better things to be doing with your time. Not only that, you prescribed medication for my son despite saying he didn’t need it and you didn’t think it would make a difference in his symptoms. Yet you filled the prescription anyway. We left with no answers on our son. I would never return to this office. Even my 7 year old told me this was a rude doctor.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE
Dr. Chuang and his assistant Valerie were outstanding in their extreme knowledge of my needs, care of taking the time to ensure that all of my questions, concerns were met and answered. His is funny in how he describes situations and understanding and in a way that helps you completely understand what it is he is explaining to you and will repeat it again if needed with care and compassion. I went to 3 other doctors until I felt comfortable with someone who was going to do a surgery on me and Dr Chuang filled that requirement fully. He is definitely top notch and would not hesitate to use him again if needed. I asked for this review to be sent because once you find someone who cares and it shows you want to make sure to acknowledge that. A PLUS RATING from me for sure.

Never again
Dr. kept me waiting for over an hour, did not attempt an apology for the long wait, spent more time trying to sell me hearing aids than looking down my throat, made some stupid remarks on how to prepare for another provider, told that they would call me and if they didn't go ahead and call them. Did not give me time to ask questions but kept talking right over me.

Horrible Experience!
Dr. Chuang came across in the visit as very strange and odd. He was talking “at me” and not to me in a very performative, impersonal manner. It’s like he memorized pages off a script and stories he tells every patient that’s totally irrelevant to the patient’s visit. I was highly disappointed in his service. To top it off he was 45 minutes behind schedule when I arrived and the front desk staff were extremely rude. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this doctor’s office!

Slightly missed the mark
I am an RN and have met a lot of doctors in my life both professionally and as a patient. Dr Chuang was one of the most interesting ones, I have to say. His style is very different. Be prepared to record or write things down or something bc he speaks quickly. He also speaks in a story/internal dialogue type way, asking questions for you and then answering them, and it really threw me off. I was there for my son who was having breathing issues and unfortunately I left feeling more confused and unsettled than helped. The examination was shorter than I was comfortable with and I felt that even though he “explained” things my options were vague and I did not feel properly guided at all on how to proceed. Additionally I noticed that my portals summary notes contained a lot of information that was not actually discussed with me, only charted that it was. As a healthcare professional that’s a big red flag for me. Really nice man but not someone I’d go back to if we weren’t moving.

My first appointment at Valley ENT was very good.
Every step was explained and each staff member was concerned about my hearing issue. Vey professional. Dr Chang has a different style but overall he is interested, listens and explains well. He was very thorough. He also paused quite often to see if I had questions. Dr. Chuang really gave thought to my concerns and opinions. I will continue to see Dr Chuang

narcissist that does not listen
Dr Chuang is the only one who thinks highly of himself and will be very happy to tell you about his awards. He talks non-stop and does not listen when you finally get a chance to speak. He spent, literally, seconds examining me and said it was all he needed to diagnose me. I should have waited a month to get in with Dr McKenna, but stupidly thought all the doctors would be decent. Do not make the same mistake. Dr McKenna will not see you once you've seen another doctor at that office (likely due to a high number wanting a better doctor) so now I have no other options and have to travel extremely far for a second option (from an in-network provider). See Dr McKenna only.

Eh
The provider was very very confident in his work - but I think that confidence spilled into a bit of arrogance towards my questions too. A bit rude too as if my questions were not good enough for his calibre. I didn't feel comfortable asking him much about my condition as when he explained - he went really long and loud without pausing to hear my concerns.
