Great Dr
I am very pleased with Dr James Dean. He found the cause of my migraines after I had been dealing with them all my life. No one else could figure out the cause.

The WORST experience in my life!!
I won’t refer to him as Dr. simply because I’m a human being and was treated like a nothing by him & his staff, & is n no way acted like a Dr. This man has zero business being in healthcare. I’ve never been treated so bad in my life. My last visit with this man was 1 that I will not forget as it has caused me skepticism from receiving care after being treated the way that I was. Please spare yourself & your health & see someone else. If not you’re only setting yourself up to all but be belittled, not taken seriously, bullied by his staff & a ego that does not belong in a profession or medical setting.

Worst experience with a Dr. I ended up in the er because of this Dr. He was negligent about filling medication, and when we last saw him he said the “f” word in from of me and my husband, the nurse was also present. He also told me he no longer see’s seizure patients which is contradictory to his terrible care and what his credentials state. We will be taking this a step forward so nobody else has to endure what I have. Also we were hung up on after 4 days of calling his office by a nurse which is terribly unprofessional. I was treated like a dog along with my husband. No exaggerating. And that lingers with me.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Last Fall my daughter, a HS Senior, was admitted to hospital for sudden onset migraine and seizure. She had no previous history. Dr Dean was assigned to us by the hospital after dismissal. She had ALL the tests over a course of 5 days with no definitive answers. At a follow up appointment (which we waited MONTHS for), Dr Dean was dismissive, seemed uninterested and barely even spoke to my daughter except to say that it looked like she might be depressed and that " she just needed to put your big girl panties on and grow up". The nurse in the room jaw dropped. He was so callous. My daughter left in tears.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Dean’s since Jan. of 2017. He was able to diagnose me with MS when not one but TWO top neurosurgeons missed seeing the brain lesions. He sat with me after midnight one morning in my hospital room for over an hour and showed me amazing compassion and helped me understand my condition...reducing my anxiety over the diagnoses. He is patience and thorough. He also listens to my opinions on which treatment regimes I feel I might want to try which give me a feeling of control over my care. I don’t feel bullied or belittled. I trust him and recommend him.

I had the first appointment of the day and he was late to work, so I sat in the waiting room 35 minutes past my appointment time. He seemed uninterested in helping me and rushed through. He was more interested in chatting with his nurse than me; it was as if I was not even in the room.

I asked all my nurses in SFH who they recommended. 100% said Dr. Dean. I asked why? Responses included: he stays after midnight if that’s what it takes, He sits and talks to patients when he meet some them to make sure he understands their problem, He has a “white cloud” that seems to turn a patient floundering or declining toward improving and resolving their illness, he often says to a patient— It’s not about anyone but you— not me, not the staff, it’s about you, he is kind to every patient

I waited 8 months for this appointment and walked away feeling like I wasted my time and money. On top of that, the doctor left me feeling like he didn't care, got frustrated with me asking questions because he would not explain things to me. I flat out said "doctor, I'm here for this neurological condition, and have waited a long time to see you. Could you please tell me what you're thinking is the cause of my condition, what we can do to make it better, whats the prognosis?" See someone else.

Almost two hours behind schedule and not one apology. Just “it is what it is”. The. The dr walks in and basically no exam looks at medical records and said not a neurological problem and walks out.

I was referred to him by the hospital. When i saw him he made me feel like what i was telling him was a joke and that I was making up what had happend to me. Then a year later i was in the hospital again for a week and this doctor comes in at 1am I kid you not and pulls up a chair and props his feet on the edge of my bed and asks," so whats up"? This is 3 days after i was admitted for a possible stroke. That was the last I saw him. I would give him a half star if i could.

My father-in-law saw Dr. Dean for several years for Parkinson's disease. The care he received was never good, but toward the end it was terrible. I wish we had switched doctors earlier, but it was too late. When my father-in-law's symptoms got worse & he could no longer swallow the Rx Dr. Dean prescribed, he told us to CALL THE PHARMACIST! That was the DOCTORS job. Thankfully his primary dr. offered to take over prescribing the Neuro Rx so we didn't have to see Dr. Dean any more.

I was assigned dr Dean in the hospital. He told me I was unknowingly stressed and traumatized as a child. I had an eeg that showed epileptic discharges and he then told me that my seizures were psychological. He missed diagnosed me for months. Finally went to get a second opinion and got the correct diagnosis. See someone else

We were assigned to Dr. Dean when my husband was admitted to the hospital. Though personable, I had to play 20 Questions w/ him to get any information re my husband's diagnosis. His receptionist is beyond rude!! We waited 1 1/2 HOURS at our last appointment but he didn't seem to understand our irritation when we asked why it took so long. The nurse had to show him how to get around in the computer & he was completely unfamiliar with my husband's condition. We have changed to Dr. Jay Johnson

Granted the wait time to get an appointment was horrendously long, but I blame the Warren Clinic for failing to have enough specialists to accommodate patients in a timely manner. Dr. Dean himself was friendly, warm, and engaging. He made my 86 year old mother comfortable immediately, in fact she has quite the crush on him. He carefully scrutinized her medical reports and then outlined a protocol he hoped could stave off her memory and cognitive issues. He made her happy and that is worth a lot.
