Dismissive, cruel and uncaring. Horrible surgeon. Horrible experience.

Dr. Doty has been my surgeon since 2009 and has operated on me on multiple occasions for various reasons. He is extremely personable and explains all the procedures he is going to use before the surgery. He is someone you can trust for the best possible outcome. I wouldn’t use anyone else for something as important as surgery.

I have never before had such detailed informed consent for a procedure. He clearly wanted me to understand the risks and benefits. That means a lot to me.

Dr. Doty talks with you rather than at you. He allows you to ask plenty of questions and takes the time to answer them. He manages to make a serious situation less threatening. He clearly explains your procedure in terms a non-medical person can understand. I would not hesitate recommending Dr. Doty to family, friends or anyone in need of a good surgeon.

Very professional

Dr Doty is very professional and caring. He is very concerned about his patients, too. He gives you good medical advice and will answer your questions. He takes quality time with his patients. I had major surgery a few months ago and I am healing well thanks to Dr Doty. I highly recommend him to others.

I ended up in the hospital with diverticulitis worse case he has ever seen. But I trusted him even though I had doubt never had surgery before. He talked me thru it and took care of me. He is very informative and try to make you laugh to ease the situation. Even in follow ups he has been the best I can say I'll recommend him to anyone has one of the best. He is set to do my hernia surgery soon so I know that would be a breeze

I love my colorectal surgeon, Dr James Doty. I was hospitalized with diverticulitis at Cleveland Clinic and assigned a colorectal surgeon there; but I sought out Dr Doty to be my doctor. Dr Doty performed my colon resection in 2011 and he will be performing my second colon resection 10/29/21. He really listens, and is friendly and cheerful. Just a nice guy! He is very knowledgeable and gets back to me quickly if I call his office with a medical problem.

Great doctor

I was admitted into Westside Regional Hospital for emergency gall bladder surgery. I had complications prior and during my surgery. Dr. Doty and his partner Dr. Weinstein, were hands-on every step of the way, they were available, concerned and informative. My surgery ended up being complicated due to my infection. Dr. Doty did an excellent job. Post surgery he made sure I was comfortable, and healing properly. I had a follow up office visit 10 days later. His office and staff was professional. My stitches, staples and tube were all removed. I am fortunate that he was my surgeon, and if I ever needed surgery again or anyone in my family, he is who we would use.

Today’s visit as a first time patient was just perfect. I like to thank the staff and most importantly Dr. Doty, I feel that doctor Doty save me from so much pain and agony from my appendix surgery which happen on May 25 surgery was the next day and I feel great, If anyone is looking for a great surgeon you better look up James Doty.
