Dr. James Dowdell III, MD

I worked 45 years in 3 different hospitals, and never meet a physician as caring and talented as Dr. Dowdell. I was misdiagnosed for 2 years by several doctors. My first impression was this is a doctor who really cares about his patients. Every step of the way he has surpassed my expectations. I had surgery in May of 2024. Since then, I haven't any back pain. I still have balance issues because of the nerve damage to my leg nerves and muscles, but that will take time to see how much can be reversed. I strongly recommend Dr Dowdell.

Dr James Dowdell is an extremely compassionate , caring and considerate doctor. He was easy to talk to, he was a wonderful listener, he was empathetic to all my concerns. Dr Dowdell was always available to answer any questions I had, I went into my surgery completely confident and secure, I knew I was in the best hands. The office staff is also very pleasant and always willing to be of help, Teresa is really wonderful too! I cannot say enough good things about Dr Dowdell as a person and a physician.

Dr Dowdell is an incredible human being as well as a superbly skilled surgeon. He has excellent patient skills and so much compassion. He instills hope in his patients before surgery and his calm demeanor takes the anxiety of surgery down a few notches. His skill level is unbelievable and he can take a challenging case and accomplish the surgery with terrific results. I feel so very fortunate to have found him and would highly recommend him to anyone with severe spinal discomfort that ultimately would require spinal surgery.

Love him!!! He could not have been any nicer, thorough or competent! The second I walked into the office I had a good feeling. It started with the receptionist, such a kind welcoming friendly woman. The Nurse was the same, the goodness kept flowing. I generally am very critical being an old Nurse. Every single thing was just wonderful, yes wonderful! Such a difference from many other physician practices. Now about Dr. Dowdell, amazing, again I had a good feeling from the second he walked in. He wanted to hear from me, how I felt and my symptoms, He did not "talk to me" he talked with me. He took a very long time discussing and explaining everything. He was honest about what realistically could help me and what could not .My situation is complicated by other medical problems.
