Dr. Dowdy saved my life
He was the only one in the western Kentucky area who would listen to what I was saying. Western Baptist would not listen to what I was saying (they said I was drug hunting). In the end, Dr. Dowdy had to remove several feet of my intestines from a car wreck and save my life. Always checked up on me and listened to my concerns. I was in the hospital for about two months due to injuries from that wreck, and he was the only one that fixed me.

Horrible bedside manner
Had a port he put in. Was dripping infection. He didn’t want to remove it. He wanted to do surgery on my leg ‘to dig around’?? I told him I wanted a second opinion. He got horribly mad at me and screamed take that port out. Went into a room across the hall and slammed the door! A patient shouldn’t be treated like that!!

Dr. Dowdy was my sisters doctor when she was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. As her caretaker and only family I was responsible for her and her care, but to get Dr. Dowdy to answer my questions was like pulling teeth Whenever u asked him a question he acted like I smelled bad or something. Terrible bedside manner. Your serving the public, that takes more than good hands.

I had emergency surgery last year. I had just started working at MCCH and very hesitant about the hospital. The ER staff was very quick to diagnose and Dr. Dowdy was on call and I was evaluated by him quickly, had surgery and the entire hospital staff was very efficient and took care of me. Thanks to Dr. Dowdy and MCCH. I would definitely recommend Dr. Dowdy. Thank you again.
