Dr. James Gaume, MD

Not a good fit for me. His rudeness is unprofessional. He sits in a dark corner a distance from me. Not a lot of conversation. Never says much. It’s time for a new Dr.

So this was the second time seeing Dr.Gaume. The first thing he says to me is “ where’s your report” and I’m thinking to myself “hello how are you?” Long story short, I felt that I wasn’t getting quality care from him because I felt that I needed a second opinion. Dr. Gaume didn’t think I needed a fine needle aspiration of my left thyroid even though the ultrasound report stated “ suspicious- recommends fine needle aspiration.” Well my PCP orders me one and I found out this morning I have papillary thyroid carcinoma. If I had listened to dr Gaume and not advocated for myself well I would hate to see what could have happened. I wonder how many other patients this has happened to. Save yourself and do not go with this doctor.

Very nice staff ,professional, Get to you timely and lady at the front desk has always been so nice and cheerful to me ,I really love his nurses they are all so kind, The person that takes my blood NEVER hurts me and that means a whole lot to me, Dr. Gaume has always treated me with a smile and calls me by name, I know he's been there for many years and i hope he doesn't retire any time soon, I truly trust him, He's just Awesome~!!

Dr Gaume and his staff are knowledgeable and caring. Everyone is always accurate and well meaning about their responsibilities.

Dr. Gaume is a good doctor, well-respected. However, the practice in general is seriously lacking in quality patient care. Request Rx refills ignored. Don't use patient portal online, because they do not monitor it, although patients continue to use it. (Staff advised.) If you call and leave message for nurse to respond, you will hear nothing until you relentlessly annoy them. Even in emergency situations - no response. Left to find another doc and practice that is more engaged and responsive.
