Dr. James Kashanian, MD

I came in before my prostatectomy to ask about rehabilitation after surgery. My surgeon suggested I go to a sex health urologist and I was looking forward to discussing how to optimize my recovery with ED meds and vacuum pump devices. The first red flag was him giving contradictory advice to what my surgeon had discussed on two different topics. I'm listening to my surgeon about when to start or stop a medication. So now I'm shopping for a doctor that will at least act like they are interested in their job.

Condescending, dismissive Dr. with absolutely zero compassion and a knows it all attitude.No pre Op exams, CT scans were ordered prior to surgery. This Dr. is a liability to Weill Cornell Medicine and their patients.

I made an appointment with this doctor after reading his profile and reading patient reviews.My visit was totally different from the people who gave glowing reviews.I waited in the office for 30 minutes after my appointment time. He spent at most 5 minutes with me. I explained my problem. His answer was vey ambiguous. He gave a paper to read all about my problem. After 5 minutes he asked me to make another appointment. I don’t think so.I’m waiting to see what this guy with bill my insurance for five minutes of his time.

Complication with procedure, Dr did not answer messages for more than 10 days, office forgot to call in prescriptions. Avoid!

Excellent physician. Great team too, I was initially seen by his fellow at the faculty practice, Dr. K. followed quickly and examined me. The visit was short and to the point, with all my questions answered. He ordered imaging which was super smooth (and I had imaging just a few days later).

Dr. Khashanian is the best. Don’t know how much more to elaborate on that. He is compassionate, honest, caring and goes out of his was way to give his utmost care to his patients (at least that has been my personal experience with him for the years I have been his patient). Couldn’t give a higher recommendation.

Up to now, I have never spent the time to give a negative review of anyone, & I was debating as to whether to do it now. However, other people's heath are at stake so I want to inform them. In agreement with a couple other reviews, Dr. Kashanian's demeanor & treatment were abysmal. Within the first 15 seconds of the visit he dismissed my health problem (occurring suddenly 2 years ago & that have not allowed me to sleep for 2 years) as "normal". Two years of never being able to enter deep sleep! He was: 1. Totally dismissive of me & my health issue 2. Couldn't be bothered. On checkout I learned why...his burrito was being delivered 3. Bad at his craft. His examination of me lasted a whole ~5 minutes (not what his error-filled & cherry-picked post-visit notes states), does not know what is medically normal & non-normal, needless to say anything about treatment 4. If anything, my issue presented an interesting case...he was not just disinterested but uninterested Stay away!!

It's nice to find a doctor who actually listens to your concerns and provides a meaningful response. Dr. Kashanian is professional, knowledgeable and a down to earth man. I highly recommend him.

On extremely short-notice, Dr. Kashanian provided excellent diagnosis & care when I suffered hematuria. Scary stuff...but now all good and back to normal.

Terrible experience with Dr. Kashanian. Find another doctor or else he will leave you traumatized. Atrocious bed side manner, uncomfortably rough, and did not provide any medical information to help my condition. Run away now.

Excellent bedside manner and clinical acumen. I had a penile implant with Dr Kashanian and my wife and I couldn't be happier!!

Dr. Kashanian is a very knowledgable doctor that explains things clearly and patiently to his patients. I viisted him for some chronic pain. While we are still working on my issue along with a pain managemnt team who was referred by Dr. Kashanian, I think we are making progress. Before visiting Dr. Kashanian, I also visisted a few urologiests in NYU Langone (both Preston Robert Tisch Center and NYU Urology Associates)and ColumbiaDoctors Midtown. I personally think Dr. Kashanian is the best docto

Excellent Dr. With calm and plesent bedside manner. My wife and I went to him for infertility issues which can be a very sensitive subject. He put us both at ease and took the time to really explain everything to us. My wife is now pregnant. Would recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Kashanian is a very thoughtful specialist. He actually listens to patient concerns and reservations about everything from medications to mental health. Glad I chose him as my urologist.

Horrible. He sends out unsolicited letters about his MLM erectile dysfunction seminars to slews of people at random TO THEIR HOMES. What a jerk. He is so unskilled, he can't keep his business up without resorting to tactless and ignorant acts like this.
