What an awesome doctor!
I have been treated by Dr. Kesl for multiple injuries. His expertise is amazing! My cases have been complex surgeries. I feel strongly that I would not be walking today if I had been treated by any other orthopedic surgeon. He is such a great guy, taking the time to thoroughly discuss the surgeries and making me feel at ease! Having been treated by numerous other orthopedic surgeons, I can honestly say that Dr. Kesl is by far the best of them all. I highly recommend Dr. Kesl for all trauma as well as planned surgeries! Thank you, Dr. Kesl, for giving me my mobility!

Seeking Advice
My wife requested an appointment to get Dr. Kesl’s input regarding osteoporosis medication options. He provided two options and recommended my wife follow a medication holiday approach with these medications to be sure bones don’t become too brittle over time. He and his nurse were extremely helpful and honest. We really appreciate the time they gave to meet with us.

At least he showed up
My ankle was broken. I was admitted to OPMC. I didn’t choose him to work on my ankle. He was hours off schedule I had no choice but to wait. We had a rather tense conversation which ultimately ended with him saying ‘you know I don’t have to do this procedure’. What was I going to do? He or one of his cohorts in the operating room put a metal rod in the outside of my lower calf to my ankle. Later I told him that it aches. He said…’well we could take it out’. Nothing more. To this day it aches constantly. I went to pt. Worked at home. Went back and asked him for more pt. Continued to work on it. My right foot angles out to the right. It affects my knee and it’s painful to walk. Ironically my insurance didn’t cover all he did. I got a nice big bill. Ok. Well I get a social security check and cannot work. I would say his staff are very persistent at collections. I paid along as I could and ended up at $500 owed. Could pay no more. He sent my account to collections. What a guy.

I was admitted to NKC hospital ER with a severely fractured humorous.( 9 fractures) . The ER highly recommended the Orthopedic Surgeons Inc. group. I saw Dr. James Kesl . He suggested that he preform surgery and a rod and 13 screw were put in my arm. At 69 years old I thought I may never have full use of my arm. Everything he told me I would experience during the healing and rehabilitation process was spot on. Today I have 100% full use and range of motion. I visited both his NKC and Blue Springs offices and both were equally great. He referred to his group as a team and I now understand why , they were fantastic. His office staff and Nurse Sarah were great at answering questions over the phone and helping with Insurance papers.

In April of this year I was in a UTV accident which resulted in 5 pelvic fractures. From the start Dr. James Kesl was so professional and walked me through any questions that I had. Being 20 in the hospital without parents was absolutely terrifying and he had such great nurses and staff to take care of me and make sure I was well taken care of. So thankful for Dr James Kesl for getting me back up on my feet so I’m able to do the things that I love to do. Can not recommend this guy enough!

I had a devastating leg fracture that by statistics, was supposed to leave me with some permanent disability. Dr. Kesl was excellent from the start. He extensively outlined all of my options, and performed leg surgery that went perfectly. He always took the time to answer questions thoroughly and has a great bedside manner not always found with surgeons. Now recovered from my injury, not only do I NOT have a permanent disability, I can do any activity that I used to do and could not be happier. I would have no hesitation to recommend Dr. Kesl.

He laid out all my treatment options, and discussed each in a factual pros/cons manner. He did not pressure me into making a decision, encouraged me to verify his information with my own research and with other doctors, and was patient with my questions.

Dr. Kesl was amazing with my dad (81 years old) when he was hit by a car and sustained a severe injury to his foot. Dr. Kesl spent endless hours talking to the family and walking us through the possibilities that my dad was going to have to face with all his other medical issues. We have never had anyone take so much time and true caring for our dad that Dr. Kesl did. He was simply amazing. I would highly recommend Dr. James Kesl for any major surgery!

I had anterior hip replacement on June 4,2018. Everything was explained and I made the decision to have the surgery done. The results have been excellent. I have a walking lawn mower and I have been able to use it after only a few weeks. I am 79 years old and now I can walk without pain.
