Dr Liu is a miracle worker. His mastered 'onion' technique for tumor removal that he pioneered helped remove my large 2.1 cm acoustic neuroma tumor. I had a 100% removal which no other Dr I consulted with would even say they tried for. Dr Liu was confident from the beginning about removing mine & trying for 100% and that's exactly what I got. When Dr. Liu came to get me from the waiting room personally he set the tone there helping make me feel comfortable & like a person not just another patient in a giant facility. He is available for questions always through a text number & answered anything I had in my mind. He made me feel confident & at ease in his confidence over the process & procedure. He was the only one that went into such detail of the procedure & surgery & even had pictures so I knew exactly what would be happening for me & it helped me to understand everything which made the entire experience better. I was diagnosed with Meningioma and he handled my case precisely. I could not help but be impressed tremendously the way he presented my case regarding my medical diagnosis,prognosis. I was uncertain to proceed with my Chari I Malformation decompression surgery. I was basically scared. Dr. Liu took time to discuss with me and assured me of the excellent care I will receive. Dr. Liu is the best neurosurgeon. His technique he invented perfected successfully removed 100% of a vestibular schwannoma without any damage to facial nerve or the auditory nerve. I was able to leave the hospital on the third day. My post surgery recovery great, headaches and pain managed by acetaminophen only. Dr. Liu is simply amazing! He successfully removed a large tumor that was pressing on my daughter's brain stem. Using the retro sigmoid procedure he was able to remove 100% of the tumor with no facial nerve damage and no severing of the auditory nerve. She had surgery on a Friday and was released from hospital on Sunday. Headaches manageable by ibuprofen. Hard to put into words what a brilliant and incredible surgeon Dr Liu is….started when I first went to his office in NJ. He welcomed my daughter and I, gave us detailed explanation of the prognosis, possible treatments for my acoustic neuroma and two meningiomas. He is the first Doctor who took the time to educate us on the approaches and gave us the tools to make an informed path to treat the brain tumors. He performed surgery on the acoustic neuroma…his hands did a miracle, he did a TOTAL resection of the tumor, leaving my face intact (no facial paralysis-BIG WIN), no balance problems (back to the gym in four weeks), still have serviceable hearing (still shocked at that) and to be honest no side effects from the craniotomy (no headaches). His beside manner and compassion cannot be matched, he went to see me everyday I was at the Hospital where I received superb postoperative care. His follow up visits were very well managed.
