Dr. James McFadden, MD

As an RN with over 40 years of experience, I did extensive research before selecting Dr McFadden to perform my knee replacement. Best decision ever! I expected pain. As a hone health RN, I routinely provide care to post operative patients (mostly knees and hips) so I was aware of the potential pain involved. I literally had NO post op pain within 24 hours of surgery. I was able to walk without a walker and was able to drive 9 days after surgery. The ONLY thing that upset me was Dr McFadden wouldn't let me remove my own staples. I will be seeing him next month to schedule surgery for the other knee.

I had knee replacement on Friday and got out of the hospital on Saturday. It is Monday at 5:22 right now and I have NO pain Meds. I called the doctor on call and No help there. Monday morning I called his office at 8:00am because I have NO pain medication. I have talked to his secretary and she says Dr. McFadden made a mistake with me but yet I still have no pain medication after a major surgery. If this doctor did this to me he will do it to anyone. Don't let this doctor get away with this. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS. What bothers me is that I've always been very nice to Dr. McFadden and Stephen (his PA) so this behavior from him is very unprofessional. I have no clue why he would do this to me, I'm a senior.

As a new patient, I found Dr. McFadden was very personable, caring, kind, and a good listener. My visit was not rushed and he explained in detail my knee injury with great patience and expertise. I feel I can trust him 100% for whatever procedure is needed to restore and heal my injury.

I also have had a disaster working with the office staff. * Pre-opt tells me they never received paperwork from Dr. M. * I called the office they said she would ask Mo to expedite things. * I waited a few more days and pre-opt said they still have not received any paperwork. * Called Dr. M office several more times with no answers and no call backs to my messages* I finally receive a call 2 days prior to surgery to schedule pre-opt.* Completed pre-opt on Friday, Nov3 just prior to Monday's surgery on Nov 6th* We show up at 6:00 AM on Nov 6 for total hip replacement* At 6:30 AM we are told they have a problem with 2 numbers not matching and sent us home.* I called our Insurance and find out that they had prior approval but resubmitted the claim on Friday for some reason* It is now Tuesday afternoon, Nov 7th and I still have not heard a word from Dr. M or his office with an explanation.This behavior is inappropriate, unprofessional and needs to be addressed.Patients Beware!

While Dr McFadden is knowledgeable and performed many complex surgeries on my son after his accident in trauma hospital and we are really grateful… the staff (Monique) who was supposed to coordinate and schedule my son’s supplemental surgery was completely inadequate. She told us we are all set, confirmed the surgery, scheduling called with our surgery time, etc. So we arranged transportation (2 hour drive), pet care, childcare, completed registration, traveled, took time off work and school, for our 5:30am appointment ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY NEVER SENT THE AUTHORIZATION TO THE HOSPITAL! Subsequently, the hospital contacted the doctor and advised us that they’re sending us home and “the doctor’s office” will be in contact. That’s it. So while we did OUR part, submitted all docs, arrived on time, SOMEONE dropped the ball there. Interested to see how they will handle this moving forward. We lost time, work, income, incurred expenses, etc all for nothing. Only to have to do it again.

Very satisfied with both knee replacements. Left knee replacement had some issues Excellent at problem solving and staying on top of things that came along.Very compadent and schooled well in his profession.

Dr. McFadden replaced a broken titanium hip implant that I fell and broke. People tell me it’s impossible to break a titanium hip replacement. Well I managed to do it and Dr. McFadden fixed it perfectly.

Great staff , after getting examined by one of his student who was very nice and listened to my concern. Dr. McFadden came in and also talked to me and reviewed my MRI . He explained my what was going on with my knee and assured me there was a solution to my problem.

I had a great experience with Dr McFadden and his staff. He replaced both of my knees and I’m doing great! His staff are helpful and patient. Even the therapists at TOI were great. I will recommend Dr McFadden to anyone who needs help with their knees. Surgery wasn’t the immediate solution. I like that he tried other options first.

Everything about my visit was done perfectly! Dr. McFadden explained my options and the treatment I chose was done in a very professional manner and, wow, the pain has gone. And, it was certainly a plus that Dr. McFadden is so friendly. This visit was because of my bone-on-bone knee issue but I also have bulging discs and a bone spur on my back. I'll certainly be checking about having that issue looked at by this office! Thanks so much!

I felt listened to and respected, something that isn't common to me being a Black woman. I felt I was in capable hands, which is why I gladly returned to Dr. McFadden to get my other hip replaced.

I have been well taken care of by this group of pros. They are kind and compassionate and love their patients. From beginning to end I know I was important to them.

Broke my arm, was put in a splint, X-rays taken monthly for 3 months, was told bone was healing and was sent to P.T. for a month! I was still in pain! Another X-ray taken and I was concerned it didn't look right! When my P. T. saw the x-ray, he questioned if my bone was healed! He didn't want to do any manipulation of my arm that day! I went for a 2nd opinion, was sent for a CT scan which showed " non-union" of the bone, which means NO HEALING took place! The only thing holding my bone together was scar tissue, which explains the pain I was still having! I have since had surgery! I wish I had NEVER gone to Dr. McFadden! He's quick to prescribe opioids and doesn't listen to patients concerns!

I have met with Dr Mc Fadden 2 times , great Dr, My last appointment I met with PA also great , explained my MRI to me in detail, explain procedure Dr Mc Fadden would perform if elected. The PA was also great, Ladies at desk great. I picked a great Dr and staff.

I received great treatment from the staff and Doctor. All were very professional and friendly,. My condition has improved greatly and I feel much better. I would recommend this office to anyone with orthopedic needs.

Very professional at every turn. Dr. McFadden made me feel at ease with his honesty about each procedure available. The people at the intake where they took my blood as well as the nurse I spoke with were very polite and THAT is a big thing to helping a person relax in my opinion. I would have no reservations in recommending Dr. McFadden and his people to anyone who has to have the same procedure as me. AND; they gave me information about the procedure and I was able to watch an actual procedure done that is the same as mine. I am looking forward to having my shoulder repaired by this group of professionals.

My experience at the Orthopaedic Institute with Dr. James McFadden for a total hip replacement was superb. His ability and kindness was always apparent both in the operating room and office. His personality always demonstrated a love for his work and caring for his patients. As it has been four months since my surgery, I continue to feel wonderful and totally healed! Thank you Dr. McFadden.

Dr.McFadden and his team are awesome! I had excellent care before, during and after surgery. Very successful results!

I a accident September 8th where my pelvis was broken I had 13 fractures on my pelvis and a broken tailbone I was taken to Ocala hospital as a stage 1 trauma patient Doctor McFadden was the orthodontist doctor that was there that day after getting released from the hospital a couple weeks later I seen him at his office went over what was next the following week on a Thursday went in for surgery had to have a plate on my pelvis where is was broken and the right side of my hip had to be dropped back down he was able to do this just by making a small cut on my side where now 3 Staples are there and now 2 weeks after surgery no more pain in my hip or pelvis and I'm almost walking again something I haven't been able to do since the accident thanks to Dr. McFadden and his staff.. they are amazing they are compassionate to every situation very nice and kind If it wasn't for Dr. McFadden I wouldn't be so close to getting back to ME..Thanks Dr. McFadden you and your staff have been great.
