I was in a few times after a stroke in my eye and he used the laser to shrink extra blood vessels on my optic nerve.. I still had pretty good sight.. He used the laser another time and burned my nerve so bad I lost my sight completely! Beware, I was even told by other eye doctors that he was terrible and to stay away!

I met Dr. Memmen Dec. 2016. I was having sudden bright flashes in my right eye and he had me come immediately to his office. After examining me he was concerned my retina could be detaching and he called Retinal Specialists to let them know I was coming right over! They said it had to be monitered because it may detach, but thankfully, after 2 additional appts., I was in the all clear. I was so grateful for Dr. Memmens concern and quick assessment of my situation. Thanks again Dr. Memmen!

Great doctor, love him! Spends time and explains but his Afternoon staff is rude and I've never been to a Drs office where I felt unwelcomed when I walked in and treated as if I was a child. Second visit, same thing.

I found Dr. Memmen to be curt and trying to sell me on laser surgery. I had a second opinion from a trusted ophthalmologist and was told that it was not necessary for me to have this surgery at this time. I felt that he should have been more courteous to me and not tell me that I should not be his patient if I did not take his advice and have laser surgery, which turns out, at this time, is unnecessary for me to have. He told me "I don't want to be responsible for your going blind".
