Dr Modir and his team at Scripps Pain have been the first and only specialists to successfully manage and alleviate pain caused by a motor vehicle accident more than 2 years ago. Through ongoing bi-lateral lumbar and cercical RFA (“Ablasion”) surgical treatments — my neck and back are no longer constant sources of immobility and excruciating pain. The treatments are ongoing and absolutely worth it. Also recently highly-targeted Thoracic injections. Dr Modir and his team have been conservative in their approach using extensive diagnostics and frequent communications with me to explore and slowly fine-tune and ramp up therapies to achieve results. Physical and aquatic therapies, chiropractic , masssge , over-the-counter pain meds, heat and cold therapies could only achieve temporary and limited relief. Dr Modir has allowed me to stretches of pain-free months I can live an active life and no longer feel trapped in a body excruciating agony. THANK YOU DR MODIR!!!

Dr. Modir is one of the best doctors I've ever had. We had a very pleasant initial meeting. He patiently reviewed my MRI with me and answered all my questions politely. I was put on a waitng list and got to have my epidural injections only four days after our meeting. The procedure was not extensive and except for the novocaine, it was not painful. One day later, the pain in my neck, shoulder, arms and hands are 80% better than prior to the procedure. He did a super job and I can't wait for another procedure in two weeks.

Dr. Modir accommodated a request from my Neurosurgeon and gave me immediate appointments for office visit and spinal injection. Dr. Modir was very patient in answering my questions and very courteous. He explained to me in detail about the procedure and kept me fully informed during the procedure. I am grateful for his help.

I have been seeing him for the past two years and I highly recommend him for pain management. He has me walking and with controlled pain levels with the injections and ablations he did to my lumbar spine. Before I was referred to him, no one knew what was causing me the severe pain in my tailbone and why I was barely able to walk.

I have been seeing Dr. Modir for about a year. He at time can be a little short at times (referring to previous comment) but only when he is extremely busy which is most of the time. He works out of more than one hospital. I find him very responsive, professional and his explanations extremely detailed. I would highly recommend him for pain treatment. He has performed spinal injections and radiation ablation on my back. Although nothing has been cured that is of no fault to his skill.

I herniated a disc at Lumbar 2-3 and received epidural injections that dramatically improved my symptoms

My experience was very positive. Dr. Modir spent at least 30 minutes with me on my initial consultation. He was patient and answered all of my questions and concerns. My next appointment was for an epidural......lumbar pain. Again, his staff.....his hospital assistants....the nurses at Scripps Clinic in Carmel Valley.....everyone was a pleasure to deal with. I was called the following day to check on my pain level. 5 stars from me.

A one trick pony, that trick literally being a shot in the dark. Does not follow up after visits or procedures. Is demeaning and dismissive. Worst doc I’ve ever visited

Horrible scheduling system; no sense of urgency; quoted as a one week wait before Dr. would even look at case before a consultation.
