This Dr is a Joke...Anyone who can't do his job and has to have another Dr do it for him and then dismisses his patient before he even goes over his conditions just because of age and then the patient has to insist he gets a referral to someone for some resolution is not worth seeing ever again!! Major disappointment and a disgrace to his profession...

I was in absolute agony. Dr. Mok was able to get me in the office in a timely fashion to have tests performed to assess my condition. It was determined I was in need of a Laminectomy and a spinal fusion at L-4,L-5. Dr. Mok performed the surgery and I woke up totally pain free. In addition to being a great surgeon he has a great bedside manner. He is also a veteran. It is no exaggeration to say he gave me my life back.

My mom had the L2,3 and 4 fusion with Dr Mok in May of 2019 she was in a car accident and no doctor wanted to take the time to listen to her about her pain finally she met with Dr Mok after a referral and Im so happy she did because Dr. Mok was able to see the issue and solve the problem Im so happy with my moms results and so is she, Dr. Mok even sat with my brother and I to go over the procedure in detail on what he wanted to do, ITS RARE when a doctor takes an hour of his time just to answer questions in person. Dr. Mok the Gattuso family wants to thank you for everything especially for giving us our mother back now that she is on her way to being more mobile.

Dr Mok performed my L5S1 fusion surgery in August, 2015. 4 hours after my surgery I was walking around my hospital room looking for my lip glass because my lips felt dry....point being, I was up walking with ZERO pain. To this day, my back is doing well and I’m not on pain pills, although after knee replacement surgery in March I had a few tweaks with my back. Dr Mok is the very best, and I will go to him always for any future spine or pain issues.

I don’t know how anyone could give Dr. Mok a bad review. Maybe he didn’t tell them what they wanted to hear. He will not do surgery unless you need surgery. He is compassionate, kind and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone who has spine issues to make an appointment with Dr. Mok!

Amazing! He was the third Neurosurgeon I went to for my chronic headache pain. He looked at my x-rays and MRI and discussed my pain. After examination he diagnosed chronic bilateral occipital neuralgia. Even though x-rays showed problems at c-3, c-4 and c-5 he said where I was telling him my pain was located stemmed from O and C-1. He now has me seeing his Pain Management Team. I have received shots in the back of my skull and they provide relief. I was actually able to be seen within a week.

Dr. Mok seems to be extremely knowledgeable but at times it can be difficult to communicate with him. His bedside manner is pretty dismissive and rude in my opinion.

I have seen Dr. Mok at the pain clinic, in Merrillville, IN. He is empathetic & thorough, with his diagnosis. I would recommend Dr. Mok to friends & family. Matter of fact, I already have. Waiting now, for MRI results, but I believe, I will get an honest opinion of a possible prognosis. I've had 6 spine surgeries, already. I trust that Dr. Mok will have my best interest at heart. And, I appreciate the time he spent in the service.

PLEASE DONT WAIT! End your suffering W/ Dr Mok! I had suffered from Spinal Stenosis for 4 years and I came across Dr Mok. I believe everything happens for a reason and the 4 years I lost was worth every second of pain to have landed in Dr Moks care! Day of operation I was terrified yet Dr Moks entire team held my hands from the time I was put under to when I woke up free of the pain I had suffered so long. He gave me my life back and that is something I can not thank him enough for!

Doctor Mok and his staff are friendly, professional, and caring. I had terrible back pain so he went the extra mile to fit me into his schedule. The surgery went off without a hitch and all my nerve pain is gone. He gave me back my life. His assistant guided me flawlessly through every step of pre and post surgery.

Dr Mok is a excellent Dr and staff too. I had L4 L5 spine surgery with fusion . Unfortunately a month later the screws started to back out this was no fault of Dr Moks. My spine was crumbling. I had to go in for two more surgeries. What started out as one fusion with two screws went to fusions all the way down with 8 screws and a 9 one going into my hip to stabilize spine. That one later came out after 6 months . The best was how he explains and talked with my husband. Sylvia was amazing to!!!

Doctor Mok and his team gave me an L4-L5 fusion. I had been in terrible pain for the past year. I had a bulging disc and my spine looked like there was a little space where there was like an air gap were my spine had a little movement where it should not be moving so I was getting pain from both spots. My surgery was just about 3 months ago and I feel great now. My pain let up pretty quickly after surgery. If you have back trouble I would highly recommend Dr. James Mok. He fixed me!
