Dr. James Reagan, MD

Competent, listened, answered questions. Every appointment included at least 2 hour wait. The front desk staff actually said he is always like this. I would have to consider this if I ever need an orthopedic doctor again

I am deeply disappointed and devastated by my experience with Dr. James Reagan. I initially sought treatment for a big toe fusion, but what followed was a series of poorly executed surgeries and inadequate aftercare that drastically worsened my condition. Dr. James T Raegan performed two surgeries on my foot, both of which were mishandled. The first surgery failed to address the issue as promised, and the second procedure only exacerbated the problem from his lack of planning and care. Despite expressing my concerns during the recovery process, my condition deteriorated significantly, and I believe that the lack of proper post-operative care contributed to this outcome. Unfortunately, due to the complications from these surgeries, I ended up losing my toe and eventually some of my foot to amputation from bone infection he ignored. This outcome has not only affected me physically but also caused immense emotional and mental distress. While I understand that medical procedures come with risks, I feel that Dr. Reagan did not take the necessary precautions or provide the appropriate care to prevent such a tragic result. I strongly urge others to seek alternative options if considering treatment with this doctor.

My experience with Dr Reagan was exceptional!! I was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Cabell-Huntington Hospital due to a lawn mower accident to my foot. Dr Reagan's resident, Dr McCann, did an excellent job cleaning and suturing up my right foot. A couple days later, I had a follow up appointment to see Dr Reagan. Both he and his resident examined the injury and gave me strict instructions on how to treat my foot from having infection set in and scheduled me back weekly to re-examine. I did exactly as I was instructed, and was very fortunate no infection was detected. I'm so happy that I was able to keep my toes and foot. I have nothing but high praise for Dr Reagan and his resident, Dr McCann, for the expert treatment I received. No stars rank high enough for this exceptional Doctor.

Dr. Reagan is currently treating me for a tib/fib fracture and ankle fractures. I have never had to wait either for an appointment or in the lobby. Dr. Reagan has been kind and very informative. The same goes for his staff. He and his staff are going above & beyond to make sure that I am making it through this difficult post -op treatment is as pleasant as possible for me. I’ve been singing his praises to family & friends in my day to day life. I’m an RN & everyone knows that nurses make terrible patients, but I literally have no problems to report!!

Dr Regan is wonderful all around! I don’t have any negatives to say about him and his office staff! All very welcoming!

From the first encounter with Dr. Reagan I saw sincerity, caring and helpfulness in his demeanor and professionalism. He outlined a plan of action after listening and addressing my concerns with respect and compassion in our first visit. In our next visit he went over the findings on the MRI with me, that confirmed and solidified what he had predicted in the initial physical examination. Dr.Reagan explained what he believed was possible to achieve through surgery. He was completely transparent about the possible levels of severity he could encounter during the procedure and how the severity would dictate the invasiveness necessary to repair the damage. He then pointed out in detail the best and worst case scenario as well as recovery timing I could expect… I felt and believed that no matter what would happen when I was in surgery Dr. Reagan would do everything in his power to help me. Now after the surgery was successful my believe turned into faith as…The proof is in the Pudding…

Competent physician, who explains the issues and the alternatives well. Makes you feel comfortable and is informative.

I was in pain for months before seeing Dr. Reagan. He listened to me, ordered x-rays, and gave me a diagnosis of Insertional Achilles Tendinitis. He suggested conservative therapies and after those didn’t help, he told me about surgery. He was very honest and took time to explain the process and how it would be a long healing process. I decided to have the surgery and Dr. Reagan and his staff were always available to help when I had questions or concerns. I have now recovered and am thankful to be pain free. I would highly recommend Dr. Reagan to my family and friends.

Dr Reagan quickly diagnosed my plantar fasciaitis and started me on a standard course of self-administered physical therapy. He explained my problem thoroughly.

Dr.Reagan was excellent. He listened to me, was thorough, and honest. He gave me options and I would definitely follow up in the future if I need to. My conduits already improving. I appreciate the care he gave me.

I found Dr. Reagan very personable and easy-going. After the X-rays, he gave a thorough explanation of the possibilities for my injury, then focused on what could be learned from the x-rays. He addressed the "known" part by making suggestions for treatment, one of which I chose right then. He provided exactly what I was looking for in the visit: relief from the pain, an injection to lessen the inflammation, and an orthopedic device that would allow me to continue walking while my problem resolved. "That's why I went there." I unreservedly recommend Dr. Reagan to provide care for any foot or ankle problem that you might have.

I have been waiting for over an hour for my results. I have been trying to get them for over half a month now. This is completely unacceptable and I am still waiting as I write this. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

Dr. Reagan is awesome. I'm so glad he is my Doctor. You could not ask for a better person.
