Absolutely Awesome
I had a myxoma that I was completely unaware of with minimal symptoms even though it was huge. It was discovered by an echocardiogram after feeling faint off and on over some weeks. Well, surgery had to be performed immediately. Needless to say I didn't have time to process the situation or be afraid. Shocked maybe but that was it. Dr. Scharff opened his schedule to perform the surgery on me within a few hours. He and his staff were absolutely incredible. They were so supportive and provided me with all of the information I needed. They basically held my hand through the process and I will be forever grateful to each of them for that.

I was in Hospital & had a blood infection (Sepsis- strep infection in my blood & in my mitral valve.) I was in the hospital a week & I chose Dr. Scharff for surgery. He came to my bedside at least three times to talk to me before surgery, he explained everything thoroughly and has a wonderful gift of communication. Surgery went well, he removed infection and repaired the valve. While I was in recovery he explained in detail to me & my family how surgery went & what to expect as I recovered. Dr Scharff is the most compassionate surgeon I have ever met. He has a gift for making the patient feel confident of a successful surgery. My 30-day visit to his office afterwards was equally pleasant. His staff are all very helpful & caring. I Highly recommend Dr. Scharff if you or a loved one needs a skilled heart surgeon. I thank God for this wonderful doctor.

Dr Scharff performed a bileaflet repair on my mitral valve. He is excellent and I was home on the 5th day with no complications. We are very fortunate to have a surgeon like him in St. Louis

Dr scharff performed a quintuple bypass. The surgery went very well, recovery has gone as planned and the incision has healed after a few months with little to no pain. Dr scharff nurse (Carol) is wonderful and very responsive. Very happy with the surgery and outcome.
