Glad I found Dr. Verheyden
I had Dupuytren's contracture in my ring and middle finger. I had tried radiation therapy, which has worked well for other people I know, but it did not help me. I didn't want to have surgery. After some research I found Dr. Verheyden, who is considered an expert in treating this disease via injection and manual manipulation. I came from out of town, and he accommodated telehealth visits for pre and post procedure. My results are SO AMAZING!! I have full use of my hand again and his bedside manner was direct and informative. He answered all my questions and listened to my concerns and gave me honest and realistic expectations. He also went above and beyond ensuring I experienced as little pain as possible (which has not been the case with other hand treatments I have tried). I am so very pleased with the results and will recommend him to anyone I know suffering from the same condition.

TOP NOTCH HAND SURGON!!
I did a lot of searching for a hand surgeon and selected Dr. Verheyden in Bend Oregon. I drove 300 miles for my two day procedure. Dr. Verheyden did a wonderful job on my hand far exceeding my expectations. A week later and I have full function back and the hand looks Great! Fully worth the five hours drive to see this specialist. Thank you

A true expert!
Dr. Verheyden treated Dupuytren's Contracture in one of my hands using a drug therapy (can't use drug or brand names here). I had previously been through 2 needle aponeuorotomies on that hand and surgery on my other hand (all from different doctors in other practices). First off, Dr V is a pro when it comes to treating Dupuytrens, and that's not just my opinion, but can be found by looking into his involvement in research. Secondly, he gave me confidence in the approach he was planning to take with the drug and how he uses it. He set expectations, was so careful in the procedure (administration and manipulating my finger), and simply gave me a lot of confidence in the treatment. I'm about a month out from the treatment and still recovering, but the range of motion outcome was immediate and resulted in 100% range in that finger.

Broken Thumb Recovery
I broke my left thumb and had heard good things about Dr. Verheyden, so I went and got it checked out by him. Dr. Verheyden was extremely helpful and professional, as well as showing a genuine interest in patients and their goals for treatment. He helped me get back to my sport as soon as possible in the quickest and safest manner. Furthermore, Dr. Verheyden made it possible for me to do the normal things with the broken thumb, allowing me to participate in all activities, including my sport to a safe extent. Dr. Verheyden is the guy to go to for upper extremity injuries, and he does a fabulous job helping people (especially athletes) return to their daily activities as fast and safely as possible.

Incredible treatment of Dupetryen’s Contracture
Outstanding! I have had a previous treatment on my Dupetryen’s Contracture by another hand surgeon. Night and day difference. Dr V was so so much better. He was very informative and open to any and all questions. His approach with the enzyme medication is incredible! He spent considerable time injecting all the nodules and bands. My results are AMAZING. I traveled out of state to see Dr V and it was definitely worth it. His videos on youtube explain his approach. I will only go to Dr V for treatment of Dupetryens!

Dr Verheyden took the time to hear what was going on with my recovery, checking range of motion, location of pain and discomfort. This helped me with the recovery and to prevent any set backs.

Dr Verheyden did not mix words. He was forthright with what my prognosis was and what I had to do to avoid surgery after the removal of my cast. He explained to me that an elbow break is move difficult to heal. He basically told me I had to put the work in to avoid surgery, which is a motivator.

Quite happy with Dr. Verheyden
Dr. Verheyden has been kind, understanding, and very competent. I've had injections from another doctor that were very painful. Dr. Veheyden's have been pretty easy for me. He is also open to alternatives to surgery so long as they work for the patient. He has been very accommodating, working to schedule another medical appointment on the same day to save me a trip for instance. He's been very careful with his explanations and quite patient with me. I find him personable as well as highly competent.

I find Dr Verheyden to be thorough and clear.
He explained everything clearly, communicated what steps he chose to rectify my situation abd how I can aid in my recovery. For previous visits I felt I needed PT and when I asked for those, he said it was not needed. This time he gave me PT and the sheet clearly stated what needed to do.

Dr Verheyden
Dr. Verheyden was a new doctor to us about 3 years ago. When we went in for hand issues he explained several options for both my husband and I. We made decisions on treatment based on his knowledge and clear explanations. I loved his sense of humor and personality. Dr. Verheyden is top in his field for a specialty disease called Dupuytren’s. My husband had no idea about the problem. Left untreated (or worse surgery) it could have caused his hand to become deformed. The injection treatment was successful and my husband’s hand is doing well. I rate Dr. V a 5/5 for his knowledge, professionalism and skill. We now see him yearly for treatment as needed for our aging ailments.

Competent but lacks sympathy/care toward patient
Dr Verhayden performed two injections for “trigger fingers” on me today. He brought in 2 syringes and was on the brink of the first injection, when I asked him “So how much is this going to hurt?”. He didn’t answer me. He just got up, walked out with the syringes, and came back with 2 different ones. These were grey, the first ones were orange. It doesn’t take much to figure out that he must have decided to use the numbing ones. Why would a doctor cause more pain than necessary? On top of this he wouldn’t listen and kept interrupting me. His diagnosis and treatment may have been correct, but his lack of caring about me on personal level was all too obvious. I could feel how impatient he was because I questioned his (immediate) diagnosis. I found him to be an arrogant individual, just as others have mentioned in their reviews. I will not be back.
