Dr. James Wren, MD

Had a vasectomy yesterday with Dr. Wren and he was very efficient and it was painless. He checked back in 24 hours to make sure everything was okay. Made me feel very comfortable during the procedure.

Dr. Wren was very helpful in explaining the procedures and follow up. He was polite, informative, caring, and professional. I highly recommend him. Thanks Dr. Wren!

Dr. Wren was efficient and very clear on the procedure. He answered all my questions albeit few because he was very thorough during his consultation. The procedure was quick and had very minimal discomfort ( besides the expected with the injection of the numbing agent). He explained what he was doing which made the process less stressful and ensured that there was not any unexpected pain by conforming the numbing agent was doing its job.He communicated thought-out the whole process and followed-up the day after to ensured proper recovery.

I decided to have another child in my mid fifties. I had a vasectomy 20 years ago. I met with Dr. Wren and he provided a thorough evaluation of the options and potential outcomes. I chose to have my vasectomy reversed and the procedure was successful. After the procedure we tested the viability of the sperm I was producing until my wife and I were ready to attempt to conceive. Shortly after we began trying my wife became pregnant. We are now the fortunate parents of a healthy baby boy. From start to finish I could not have been more satisfied with service and relationship I had with Dr. Wren. He was always available and provided direct advice and answers. He has continued to be available to respond to any questions post birth. I could not provide a higher recommendation.

Dr. Wren is a very competent doctor, who is always concerned about the well-being of the patient, has excellent post-procedure follow-up and is very accessible at any time.

Dr. Wren is the epitome of patient dedication with a passion for achieving the best possible clinical outcomes. He goes above and beyond in every way. He diagnosed a condition which required surgery to correct in order for me to have children. The surgery ended up being much more complex than anticipated (over three hours long) and many physicians would not have continued with the procedure. Dr. Wren never once considered any option other than the best possible outcome. His talent for his craft matches his patient dedication and he was able to reverse my condition. I now have a beautiful baby girl all thanks to him. I could not have higher praise for Dr. Wren as not only a physician, but also, an incredible person. There is a reason why he is known amongst his peers as the best in the business and I am incredibly grateful for him. He truly changed my life!

Avoid this doctor at all costs. I found him incredibly arrogant. It felt as if he was finding ways to run up services to increase his own compensation. I have seen other physicians for the same diagnoses and have had significantly different care. If I could leave zero stars I would have. My first visit, I was interviewed by his PA or NP then he came in already with a diagnosis and then proceeded to talk to my about infertility which wasn't even why I was there and also wasn't questioned if I wanted children. He never conducted a full physical and already had arrived at his diagnosis which my PCP questioned. His response to my testing was also with poor bedside manner. On a follow up visit he questioned my response from the month prior saying 'I remember last time you were in less pain there'. Something that I remember vividly and was shocked he questioned me since I remember having pain. I know he is no longer with Northwestern but wherever he practices now I will avoid him.

Dr. Wren was very helpful, so sad to see him go. He explained everything and provided me with treatment choices.

Intelligent doctor, will explain everything down to a T, team is very empathetic and caring , scheduling is flexible.

I feel frustrated because Dr. Wren left the organization in Glenview without advising his patients. Very personable but cystocopy and ultrasounds ordered unnecessarily.

Very comforting to realize that health professionals of the highest caliber and compassion still exist........absolutely the BEST!
