Dr. Jamie Bizzell, MD

Went to Dr. Bizzell with severely tonsillitis after four rounds of strep throat treated by antibiotics back to back. I was desperately seeking a tonsillectomy after a referral from my PCP. I was told that. my symptoms made no sense and I couldn't have had strep throat. She told me the last thing she would do was take them out ('maybe years down the road when we exhaust other options'). She insisted on a sleep study and hearing test instead. I felt totally gaslighted and not heard at all. She barely gave me any exam, just a quick look down the throat. My husband and I both left extremely frustrated. Thank goodness I got a second option and was totally validated and booked for an immediate tonsillectomy after seeing that my airway was 50% compromised by abscessed tonsils. I'm two weeks post-recovery and my sleep and breathing have improved immensely. At a time when I was so exhausted from the constant pain I just wanted some validation and Dr. Bizzell gave me none.

Dr. Bizzell makes going to a doctor a comfortable experience. She goes the extra mile to rule out any problems and communicates her findings well.

It was a simple visit. Waited 40 minutes after the scheduled time to see doctor. The Dr. spent maybe 15 minutes total with me at two different times. When the DR. left the first time a nurse brought in a small hand held ortho camera. The tip of the camera, that goes up your nose, cable was laying on the surface of the common surface of the roll around tray. The remaining portion that is held in your hand was laying on a new paper pad. I wanted to just check to see if I had any sinus infection. I have CIGNA insurance. But I received a bill for $450 for the hand held device used and $250 dollars to be a new patient. The phone number for billing questions listed on the invoice is a call center in another country. I am disputing the new patient charge. But the office visit and the service provided is an over charge and the new patient charge is a deceiving charge. I will not be going back to AR Otolaryngology due to misleading/deceptive billing methods.
