Negligent
Routinely triple booked and antagonized to the point where her own nurses empathize with you and recommend finding another specialist. There’s a reason she’s always accepting new patients 3 decades into her career. An ego the size of Everest- she believes herself to be the greatest neurologist in the country- but too negligent to review your chart, stay updated on your condition, or even write you a usable doctors note.

Egotistical and negligent- doesn’t read other doctors notes, doesn’t answer phone calls or review your notes. Wrote me the most unprofessional doctors note I’ve ever seen (to the point that I showed my HR and they were horrified) and then made me wait a month to tell me she wouldn’t revise it to clarify anything for my work and that she’d write whatever she wanted because it’s “her name on the note”. She believes herself to be a celebrity first, and never a caregiver.

Avoid
First visit was awful: was having an active migraine and Dr Hwang was horrible during an active migraine! You would think a neurologist would be more understanding during an episode but quite the contrary. She was super rude and curt. She had no empathy and kept interrupting me. I kept telling her my issues and the meds she kept forcing on me I literally COULD NOT take due to the migraine and she would say "just take it, just take it, just take it." Over and over like that. Very weird behavior. She then prescribed me a very dangerous drug that I did not want to take. She is hands down the worst Dr. I have ever encountered in my life. Avoid Dr. Jane Hwang at all costs. She will not listen to you. Read the countless other reviews about how awful this woman is. She should have her medical license revoked.

The worst Dr I have had at Kaiser hands down. Avoid Dr Jane Hwang at all costs. Zero empathy. She prescribes drugs without full knowledge of side effects. She rushes through appointments. She repeats herself over and over and talks over you. She doesn't listen to your concerns as a patient. Awful Dr.

Years later, I still haven't forgotten her cruelty
A few years ago, I was suffering from a very strange illness that seemed like MS. My PCP sent me through a few different doctors trying to figure out what was wrong, with Dr. Hwang being the final doctor who could possibly help me. When I finally reached her I was very hopeful and told her the list of issues. She responded by saying that the people in her clinic had "real problems" and that "you don't WANT to have one of these diseases" with a sneer, implying that I somehow WANTED to have a neurological disease. She said there was nothing wrong with me and that I needed to see a psychiatrist. I was absolutely speechless, so she rudely ushered me out the door. It took a long time and a lot of pain before I saw another doctor and learned that lifting heavy things at work was aggravating the nerves by my spine and causing all the symptoms - I stopped lifting heavy things and never had that problem again. I will never forget this women's cruelty and lack of professionalism or compassion.

Being treated for seizures. Was not attentive. Cut off medications cold turkey which caused sever complications and is not recommended. One of the worst medical experiences I've had. (this was back in 2016)

I went to see Dr. Hwang as my new Neurologist on Dec. 19, 2019 at Kaiser when it went side-ways and she thought I was asking for a 2nd opinion. During the in-clinic visit Dr. Hwang was more interested in writing notes in the computer, than listening to my medical issues. What Dr. Hwang did hear, she even got wrong according to some of her notes. I had my relative with me. We explained everything clearly and precisely and no other doctor has gotten it wrong before.

Dr. Hwang is the most caring and skilled Neurologist that I have had in the 41 years since I was diagnosed with Epilepsy. She takes the time to know you and how your condition affects your life. She is very easy to talk to, and makes a special effort to improve your quality of life. She worked with me to find the right combination of meds to improve my seizure activity. I highly recommend Dr. Hwang. She responds quickly to emails, calls, and inquiries.

Didn't seem to care or listen. Wanted me to pay out of pocket for additional tests without any understanding of issues or reviewing previous medical history.
