BEWARE OF $205 UNCOVERED ADDITIONAL CHARGE
First of all, I have no issue with Dr. Porcelan. This is regarding the group, Axia, to which she has moved from Women for Women, her previous affiliation. If you see a doctor in Axia and are on Medicare, there will be an additional UNCOVERED cost of $205 at each appointment. The representative told me that this was implemented on January 1, 2024. There was previously one charge for an annual exam, which was covered in full by Medicare. Now this $205 has been broken out from the exam and called '99387 New Medicare Annual Preventative w G0101', which Medicare doesn't cover. My appointment and exam did not change in the least, so I am receiving the same care as before, so I don't even know what this charge is. It looks like my sec ondary insurance also doesn't cover it. I was not informed of this either before or during my office visit. I am not paying this and, sadly will have to find a new doctor, not affiliated with Axia.

Look for someone else
My daughter had her first nexplanon removal and re-insertion with Dr. Porcelan. She explained NOTHING barely interacted and dismissed my daughter's pain when she made EXTRA incisions during the removal. Overall is was pretty awful.

I appreciated Dr Porcelan’s intelligent attention and competence. She listens carefully and proposes options. She give You time to understand the significance of her proposed options. I’m glad to have found her.
