My daughter's pediatrician sent us to the ER at Children's because while playing a sport, she suddenly felt the wind knocked out of her, her heart started pounding, she felt short of breath and dizzy. It took twenty minutes for her heart rate to come down. She has had this occur in the past while playing and also while sitting on the couch watching TV. This doctor insisted that she pulled a muscle in her chest and prescribed naproxen for pain that she didn't have. My daughter is an athlete, she knows what a pulled muscle feels like and this wasn't it. Maybe it's the practice of Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh to throw medication at kids or just this doctor's ignorance, but I wouldn't take my dog to see her.
