Very unprofessional.
I couldn’t get the medicine he prescribed, so I sent him messages for 2 days and he didn’t call back or reply my email. He might be busy, but you need to reply back to your patient when they need help!!

Dr good staff rude
Dr Putnam is great and has helped me for several years. His receptionist is extremely rude and every time I have to talk with her is horrible. The rudest person I have ever encountered in business.

Negligent Doctor
Dr. Putnam is the worst psychiatrist I've ever seen in my 17 years of care. He lacks compassion for his patients, rushes appointments, neglects to fill prescriptions, and goes on vacation with no way of being able to be reached. I ended up in the hospital with extreme suicidality, and the hospital could not get into contact with their offices. He then claimed they had never called him. The only way I could prompt him to even answer an email was to call his emergency line, which he also never answers. If you have issues with depression and suicidality, avoid this doctor at all costs. It really is an issue of life & death.

Dr. Putnam is knowledgeable about the latest medicines and treatment protocols. However, he comes across as an arrogant individual who is in the field to make money first and foremost. Review your bill closely as he will bill for extra time and services he didn’t render. He stopped taking my insurance and basically sent me the mandatory letter and left me high and dry. I offered to private pay him the same amount my insurance reimbursed him and he laughed in my face and said, “I don’t think so, that’s why I am not accepting your insurance anymore.” He also charges money to write a letter on your behalf. I have never heard of a physician charging you for paperwork.

I saw Dr. Putnam for 2 years for depression and anxiety. I've been going to psychiatrists for 16 years and have never had one willing to venture beyond basic SSRI therapies like Dr. Putnam He added different medications like thyroid hormone to see what combinations worked best. We found a combination that has made me the most stable I've been in years. I recently moved out of the area and fear I won't find another psychiatrist as great as Dr. Putnam!

I have seen several different doctors over the years from bad to average ones. He is absolutely the best one I've seen. He is clearly knowledgable, listens intently, answers any questions you might have, gives a thorough explanation about your diagnosis or the medication you are on or his reasoning behind his medical decisions. I never had to wait for my appointment and he was always willing to come in extra early in the morning to see me since I have such a busy schedule. Truly the best.

Dr. Putnam is the first of his profession who has been effective for me after many years and many providers. He is current, thoughtful, and extremely competent. He allows me to be an active part of treatment, listens well, and I fully trust his recommendations. His demeanor is friendly, and inviting. I am very grateful for his expertise and patience along the way.

Worst doctor I have ever seen. Going to file complaint with insurance company and medical board. Uncaring couldn't look less interested when I was going over my deep mental pain . He is a joke and should lose his Medical license.

Dr. Putnam is very insightful, and very careful about prescribing medications and about monitoring medication usage and patients' needs and mental states. I don't know that he does lengthy, talk-therapy sessions with his patients, so would-be patients looking for that type of psychiatrist might want to ask whether he does that kind of therapy.

Rude, uncaring. I've seen many psychiatrists in my life and he is the worst -- total lack of compassion, unresponsive when you try to reach him and truly doesn't give a damn. The receptionist is nasty and hardly ever answers the phone and they never return calls or emails. He went on vacation before refilling my meds like I had requested numerous times and left no way to be reached. I would've thought it an awful joke if he didn't leave me feeling like I should jump off a bridge
