Dr. Jason Ferrel, MD

Dr. Ferrel is an excellent surgeon. He’s funny, personable, and of course very professional. I would recommend him to anyone - I wish he were my primary! I’d like to also note that his staff was first class and want to say thank you for making me feel comfortable during this unfortunate circumstance.

In a world where 99% of doctors couldn't care less (and I know, because at 71 I've run the gamut of medical professionals, from A to Z), spend maybe 5 minutes with you, dismiss your concerns, and send you on your way with no resolution -- there is actually one who gives a .. fig! Dr. Ferrel took his time with me, is very personable and kind, honed in on the root of my problem, gave me valuable suggestions and advice, and gave me an injection that made the difference between using a cane and being relatively housebound -- to walking virtually pain-free again! I gave Dr. Ferrel 5 stars, but I would give him a hundred if I could! :)

Excellent doctor. Took the time to hear me out with my situation. Had some issues s with my lower back and Dr ferrel told me exactly what the issue was and how to deal with it. No nonsense and straight to the point. My man. I would recommend him to any of my family or friends. Thank s Dr ferrel. Your the man. Much respect.

I had a significant lumbar surgery from L1 to S1. I am still improving and recovering. He does more than any other of my friends’ surgeons. I am making a good recovery and expect to make a full recovery. Would recommend Dr. Ferrel to everyone.

Dr Farrel did surgery on my lower back and did an outstanding job. I could hardly stand or walk prior to surgery, after outpatient surgery I left without pain or difficulty walking or standing. I would recommend Dr Farrel to both friends and family.

If you could get a follow up appointment I could have an opportunity to judge. If I gotta judge now, it would be a failing grade because the 1st visit was blah, not good not bad. Steroid injection was a failure.

Dr. Ferrel is absolutely amazing! I suffered back problems since 2019 and had two prior disc surgeries with another surgeon and still had horrible back and nerve pain. I chose to switch to Dr. Ferrel and was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I went to him in the Fall of 2021 with horrible pain worse than I ever had. I ended up in the ER and through bloodwork, they discovered I had a Spinal Staph Infection. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and then 6 weeks of IV antibiotics at home. I knew I could not live my life in this pain and Dr. Ferrel and I made a mutual decision I had to get a back fusion on L5-S1. I love to work out and have a very active lifestyle and knew surgery was my only hope to get my life back. I had never felt so confident in a Doctor in my entire life! He helped me every step of the way and now I am 3 months out from surgery and pain-free! He is the most caring, compassionate doctor and I believe the best back surgeon in Columbus!

Dr Jason Ferrel performed a Laminectomy and opened up the space for a nerve root between the L3-L4 lumbar; I had been diagnosed as having severe spinal stenosis and a severely pinched nerve. Prior to surgery, it had become painful for me to sit or walk; often I would have to take muscle relaxers and NSAIDS for pain that sometimes reached the 9+ level. Several months of physical therapy and a spinal injection did not significantly improve my symptoms. Finally, I asked Dr Ferrel, “If you were me, would you get a Laminectomy?” Dr Ferrel replied, “Yes, I would!” It has been four months since my surgery and I no longer need to take any pain relievers! And I can sit and go for walks with my wife :) Jason, thanks for giving me back my life!!!

Dr. Ferrel just recently performed a spinal fusion on my L4 and L5 vertebrae to relieve pain from a herniated disc. Dr Ferrel is AWESOME, I VERY HIGHLY recommend him. The surgery was a wonderful success and I can now walk and stand again without being in severe pain. Dr Ferrell and all of his staff are very kind, courteous and professional.

Dr. Ferrell has a good bedside manner. He keeps you informed about everything and helps you make the the best decision.

The most compassionate and gifted surgeon I have ever met. Such a gracious humble man. He has restored my life. I had an emergency L3-5 fusion and the surgery and recovery has went well. Saw Dr Ferrel for the first time. Left feeling EXTREMELY impressed by him. Was very thorough in his exam, what he had asked for to be looked at textwise before my appointment, x rays right before I saw him, the questions he asked me during my appointment as well. We both talked about medication and surgery and I left few impressed that he felt the same as I did on medication-not pushing it. And honest about surgery as well-not pushing it as well. Completely used to the opposite!
