Dr. Jason Murphy, MD

My husband had an emergency appendectomy after rupturing on a Saturday night. He was kind, caring. Excellent bedside manners. Provided answers to all our questions. I cannot say how pleased we were with his care.

He is a great listener, educator, and good bedside manner. He answered my multitude of questions without hesitation.

Dr. Murphy performed a partial removal of my dad's pancreas. My dad asked about possible complications as he had heard having any part of your pancreas removed could lead to other concerns. Dr. Murphy explained to my dad that the part of the pancreas that was being removed from my dad was not involved with insulin production or control. My dad asked this question in particular, and Dr. Murphy assured him he would not have diabetes. A few months later, my dad was hospitalized in the ICU with diabetic ketoacidosis. His blood sugar was over 600. He has to take insulin and check his blood sugar every day. He is not well, and he was lied to by Dr. Murphy. The endocrinologist that my dad sees now explained that if any part of the pancreas is removed, the chances of becoming diabetic are almost certain. This doctor wanted to perform surgery and make money. What happened to my dad afterwards apparently didn't matter to him. Be very careful when using this surgeon. AKA "don't do it".

I recently underwent gastroesophageal surgery to prevent exacerbation of my GERD condition. Dr. Murphy and his staff are very efficient and welcoming. He has excellent bedside manner and he shows that he genuinely cares about his patient. I would use him again if I have to.

Dr. Murphy goes above and beyond for his patients. He genuinely cares about the patients wellbeing. I was really frustrated with my illness last night as I sat in my hospital bed and Dr Murphy showed up and stayed and talked to me for awhile and his bed side manner is remarkable. By the time he left I felt relaxed and hopeful. I would recommend Dr Murphy to any patient for sure.

I had two surgeries performed in 2018 by Dr Murphy. He is a very good surgeon with good bedside manner. His staff is wonderful. Friendly and helpful.

Jason Murphy is one of the finest surgeons in Jackson MS area and goes above and beyond for his patients.

Dr. Murphy sat on my hospital bed Drew me a detail picture of where a mass located in my colon and fully explained the surgery he was going to perform and what would happen afterwards. He and his office still over backwards to take care of me. He is an excellent surgeon with an even better bedside manner. I would like to thank he and his son up from the bottom of my heart. I am a reoccurring patient. A few years ago I was told I had a severe, Hiatal hernia. As well as a few other problems. Dr Murphy removed my gallbladder, performed a Nissan, This was all done laparoscopic.. I have since seen Dr Murphy with follow up procedures and other things. He is a really nice guy. And I really like my care so far.
