Dr. Pope the BEST!
Dr. Pope was my shelter in the storm when I arrived at the ER last week -- the sickest I have ever been in my life. Couldn't breathe and was having a severe allergic reaction. Dr. Pope identified this immediately and sprang into action. The team worked seamlessly together and obviously respected Dr. Pope very much...and also joked with him! Clearly they enjoy working with him. If I am ever that sick again, I only hope to have someone as phenomenal as Dr. Pope again!

Poor excuse for a doctor
Diagnosed with COPD yesterday and told by another ER doctor that there’s a good chance of lung cancer. PET scan today. Came to ER for second day in a row because I can’t breathe especially with this chest cold. My blood oxygen level was 91 to 94 when I sit still but as low as 77 when coughing and moving around. Pope said his would be elevated too if he jogged around the ER ???? Asked me when I quitSmoking and I said as soon as I knew about the “COPD”. Pope proceeded to say I knew way before. His job is not to lecture. Belittled me from his high horse. I had a full out non breathing attack right in front of these people and they send me home with no inhaler. Again. Was given nebulizer vials previously but I don’t own on. I came in here because I can’t walk 10 feet without an attack and they send me off with absolutely nothing but a prescription for steroids and and inhaler that I cannot fill. I see other bad reviews but this man will laugh them off because he doesn’t care. Zero stars

Great experience!
Dr. Pope was really great when I saw him last week. He listened to me, provided a thoughtful plan and he had a really nice bedside manner. He was also hilarious! I was admitted to the hospital and the rest of my visit was just okay, but Dr. Pope's care stood out! Excellent!

The GOAT! (greatest of all time!)
I went to the hospital during COVID-19. Not everybody was in high spirits at the time, and one staff member in particular was so rude to me I almost left before being seen but I'm glad I stayed and got to meet Dr. Pope. He was kind, courteous, and he listened and didn't jump to conclusions. I felt like I was in good hands. Thank you!!

Dr. Pope did a phenomenal job with my wife when we visited Memorial's emergency department. I appreciated his candor and his sense of humor. It was a very stressful situation for us. He was amazing and we were lucky to have him there that night!

Horrible doctor. Poor bedside manner, does not listen to patients, ordered thousands of dollars of tests that I had done less than a month before. He wouldn’t even look at the results. He questioned what every physician I’ve seen has told me (all the same thing - that I needed my gallbladder removed). I went to the ER in extreme pain one week prior to a scheduled gallbladder surgery. He said “how do you know it’s your gallbladder?” He ordered an ultrasound, CT, and x-ray when I had the results of all three IN MY HAND FOR HIM TO SEE. He shouldn’t be practicing medicine.

Dr James Pope (if you want to call him a doctor) Did nothing for my wife, just waited till sge peed so he could see what the kab says. During this tine her pain greatly escalated, and he did nothing at all. Then had tge nurse tell me that have done all tgay could. I then yook her to a better hospural that in 2 hours got her pain under control. This so called dr Pope does care or wants to. I will NEVER got to this hospital if he is on duty.
