I had some procedures done but I would never go to him again and would definitely NOT recommend him.

It’s all true!
All the bad reviews are true. You wait months for a appointment, in room he walks in doesn’t talk to you and in 45 seconds says you need a colonoscopy, walks out and a girl comes in to schedule, appt set for another couple months. Today I start that awful prep for procedure and I get a call from his office telling me they have to reset. Just a horrible experience with this Dr and staff. Run dont walk away!

God Awful Doctor
He is by the far the worst doctor I’ve had the displeasure of visiting. I had to schedule my appointment 2 months in advance, and arrived 30 minutes early on the day of, i still had to wait close to 1 hour to be seen. Once he walked into the room he had his back to me for the entire time, and only looked at me when feeling my stomach for god knows what he didn’t explain anything. He didn’t bother explaining my lab results to me, and I highly doubt he looked at my file. His advice to me was “take some fiber and eat more vegetables” and walked out the room after seeing me for less than 2 minutes. I had to ask the nurse for him to return to the room to ask what I should do if my symptoms worsened, he shrugged and said “do what you want” This doctor is clearly ready to retire and has no care in the world.

Difficult to make appointment
I made an appointment about 4 weeks in advance because that was the earliest date they had for the Pomona office. Apparently Dr. Shin is only there on Mondays'. This is fine, however on the morning of my Monday appointment, I received a text saying my appointment was cancelled. I called the office twice and on the third attempt, I was finally able to speak with someone. Apparently Dr. Shin's office didn't receive the new patient packet that I faxed over the Friday before. Even though they received my email of the same packet Monday morning, they had to cancel my appointment. The rule, which was never communicated to me, is that they had to get the new patient packet the Friday before the Monday appointment. I would be ok with this rule IF they actually notified me of it prior to my appointment. And conveniently the office manager is out and no one there is in charge who could help me.

Some reviews I read state that Dr. Shin gave them minimal time, about 2-3 minutes of his time (in at least one review). Well, they must be teacher's pets because I got a whole 45 seconds. I asked his nurse to have him come back for follow up question. He returned to my bed and gave me another 35 seconds. However, he didn't seem rude, but definitely giving me the bum's rush.

(Giving me results of colonoscopy; I was 63 years old) Yawned unapologetically through the several minutes of my visit. Said no negative results, come back in 10 years. When I reminded him polyps had been removed 2 years earlier he said make it five years. I reminded him AGAIN OF MY HISTORY INTHE FILE HE WAS HOLDING that my paternal grandfather had colon cancer. He then said, ok, make it 4 years, and left.

During the Covid Pandemic I became sick with stomach problems, gastritis, throat irritation, and dry coughing. My primary physician recommended Dr. Shin. The office staff were nice, professional, and helpful. They set up a telephone appointment. I knew right away as I was speaking to Dr. Shin, he was a very knowledgeable and intelligent doctor, he was familiar with my issues, and asked questions appropriately. He was nice, listened to me attentively, and was patient. In working with his staff, Adriana scheduled my colonoscopy and endoscopy and she was excellent to work with, instructions were helpful, and I had no issues with any of the staff. The surgical staff at Casa Colina Surgical Center spoke positively about Dr. Shin, they liked him and thought he was an excellent doctor. My procedures went well. I have read the reviews complaining about bedside manner. This was not the case for me. I know that he is bright, skilled, and experienced. I easily recommend him to family and friends

Has to be one of the worst doctor’s I’ve had the misfortune of ever seeing. I wouldn’t recommend him by any means. As others have stated, Shin didn’t spend more than a couple of minutes with me. My medical complaints were met with the doctor’s disinterest. I’d have to say it’s time for this doctor to retire.

AVOID this Doctor at all costs. He is rude and unprofessional. I was recently scheduled for an appointment at the Talbert Surgical Group where he practices only to leave without being seen due to his absolutely absurd outburst to me. As the nurse was trying to take me to the back to speak with Dr. Shin the Doctor decided to go ahead and yell at me about my appointment in front of the entire waiting room. I was mortified to turn around and find every single person in the room staring at me. My husband stood up and told me let go there is no way your having anything to do with this Doctor. Even the nurse was apologizing over and over for the Doctors rude behavior.

Absolutely rediculous coming here. He questions your illness if it's real. The staff doesn't return calls. Dr. Shin has a hard time making eye contact when speaking to you. Please stay away at all costs. Coming here is a problem not needed in life.

Since my mother passed away and my father was no longer able to drive, I have been taking him to his Dr. appt's. This was my first time in Dr. Shin's office but my father has been seeing him for years. We waited quite a long time in the exam room and when Dr Shin finally came in he hardly acknowledged my dad, spent very little time with us, had no patience with my dad or myself when asking questions or needing clarification. He really acted like he wanted nothing to do with us. Never again.
