Dr. Downey is very kind and explains things well. He has even called our home to check on us in the evening time. We never feel rushed. My only complaint is the staff. Whoever answers their phones is very rude and uncaring. I cringe when I have to call his office.

Dr. Downey does not rush the appointment and is very thorough with his questions and answers. I also get a printed summary of the visit prior to leaving. He has called after hours to provide information and responds to questions via My Chart promptly. The office staff has provided a timely appointment when I needed it and the doctor has gone above and beyond to help with care.

Dr. Downey is very straight to the point. However, San Ysidro Medical Group over books their Physicians to the point that they don't spend much time with the patient or you have to wait more than an hour to be seen. I would recommend Dr. Downey, but I will not recommend anyone to use San Ysidro Medical Group. Poor standards.
