I went to Dr. Dunfield after feeling dizzy and nauseous and being tossed from one specialist to another for 6 months. Several tests were given in his office without finding my problem. He listened carefully and made notes of all my symptoms and what I felt triggered them. He assured me we would get to the bottom of this and thanks to him we did. I was sent to Mid-America Balance Institute where I was given a lot of complex tests. They identified my ocular/vestibular problem and through therapy with their specialists I'm much better and feel like I have my life back!! Thx

WORST EXPERIENCE
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. ZERO compassion for patients - he was abrasive - not friendly - I got up and walked out of visit. AWFUL! I didn't even want to give him a rating of one, but the computer made me. This guy gets a ZERO

Lack of compassion
My GP referred me to Dr. Dunfield for chronic sinus issues. Dr. Dunfield did not provide a physical exam but insisted he couldn’t do anything for me unless I had a CT Scan right then at his office. My insurance only covered this service at one of their facilities and my appointment was late on a Friday. I felt so sick so I agreed to pay out of pocket for the scan hoping to get treatment and feel better. Dr. Dunfield then told me the scan was clear and I was fine. I was feeling so bad I then went to a Hy-Vee clinic were I was treated by a PA. He examined me and said I had a sinus infection and fluid behind my ears. He gave me a medication which I had not tried before. I have been well since then. I was very disappointed Dr. Dunfield did not show compassion in his care for me or help me in any way.

Expert in Otolaryngology, knowledgeable specialist
My visit was courteous, efficient, with expected outcome. I walked in with ear blockage issue and walked out within 20 minutes all cured. The office was all appointed with high quality otolaryngologic equipment. Dr Jay Dunfield conducted expert assessment, detected precise issue, and confidently, skilfully resolved my issue. He is definitely master of his specialty, at least anything to do with ears! Will definitely recommend this ENT specialist to others. I was a bit anxious as I read some negative reviews but saw between lines those reviews were highly subjective. Excellent doctor, excellent service

Horrible. Will never go back. I was a new patient he came in and didn't even introduce himself. Just walked in and looked at me like what do you want. Arrogant and condescending.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Quack to anyone. He was as arrogant as any professional I have ever been to. Misdiagnosed me with acid reflux when I had throat cancer. According to Dr. Quack on my second visit 6 months after my first appointment I just needed to keep taking my acid reflux medicine. I had to tell him I could see a spot on the back of my throat after his exam he turned as white as a ghost after he looked at my throat again. They told me I was Stage2. KU 2nd opinion full blown Stage 4.

I saw Dr. Dunfield in late fall 2013 and I will never forget that experience. He was arrogant and aloof. He did not introduce himself, did not look at me, but just stared at the chart in his hands. Then he says, "What can I do for you?" I seriously felt like I was "bothering" him and he probably hated his job". Worst bed side manner I have ever experienced with a Doctor.
