Dr. Jay B. Patel is a great doctor. He's very knowledgeable and caring. I feel comfortable talking to him about my health concerns, and he explains things in a way that's easy to understand. I trust his advice and feel well taken care of under his care.

Great for all stages of life
My young adult, my pre teen and my perimenopausal self all see Dr. Patel. He is so kind and thoughtful weighing in on all wellness topics. He has been quick to support acute injuries and illnesses and help support long term medical issues. I couldn't be happier with a physician than we are with Dr. Patel!

He will refuse to refill your prescription multiple times without any communication as to why. I guess he relies on his nurses to do his job but the nurses hardly call back either, I had to find out from my pharmacy after 3 weeks of no meds (now 1 month and 1 week) He'll push unnecessary medicine on you that doesn't pertain to you at all, he'll get very upset with you if you don't do what he told you to do. He is terrible with mental health and only seems to care about physical health. His bedside manners are non existent, he is short with you, refuses to listen to any concerns you have because he's too focused on something else, as if 2 things happening in your body can't happen at once. Overall, he simply doesn't care. I'm amazed he's allowed to practice. For your physical and mental health, don't rely on him. You'll be disappointed. Just go to saint Luke's 10 minutes away and you'll be taken care of much better there.

I’ve seen Dr. Patel for almost 9 years. He’s always been more than willing and able to explain in detail what is going on and talk through anything I’m going through. From mental health to medical needs, he’s always available and never rushes though anything. He has truly saved my sanity. Could not ask for a better PCP

Not only did I consider his demeanor during my visit to be extremely rude and unprofessional, I honestly can look back and describe it as traumatic. Upon my first and only visit, he made assumptions about me and demeaned me for my personal health awareness that my body does not tolerate the flu vaccination. That enraged him. Such a response is not professinal or ethical.

Not a good doctor not even a nice doctor. Staff also very unfriendly and of no help at all. Pick any other doctor and you'll be happier.

Dr. Patel was new at the Lees Summit medical center when I first met him. He ordered tests and overreacted to minor test result differentiations. I also had a sleep study and a lung function test. When I contacted the office for the results or follow-up they told me I had to contact the testing doctor/reviewer for results. The testing review doctors are not available to discuss the results. I was very unhappy with the way the staff and Dr. Patel handled me as a patient

I was looking for a primary care physician and was very blessed in finding Dr Patel! He is the best physician I have seen in about 25 years! He takes his time and never rushes through an appointment! He actually listens to what I may say, is very kind and makes me feel my overall health and well being is important! All of his staff are kind, efficient and helpful and no one has ever made me feel that my presence in the office is an inconvenience to them. I highly recommend Dr Patel!

We really like Dr. Patel. When my husband (52 yo) had a health scare in January, we decided it was time for him to change primary docs. We are both so glad that we did. We feel like Dr. Patel is fully invested in listening to him and helping from the moment he gets into the room. He is determined to help him to get his diabetes numbers under control. The office also offers a free diabetes educator, who is more than just a dietitian. Friendly staff who are good about getting back with you.

Dr Patel was a really nice guy and I appreciate the idea he listens and wants your feedback. He’s not just going to give the same meds maybe a previous dr has for he listens to me and what is happening with ME which is a nice change. He doesn’t seem to just throw you in a group and give the same things for every person is different.

I liked Dr Patel's easy going style and his definition of what his responsibilities and what mine are as I am a senior citizen. He is the doctor to go to if you take care of your responsibilities. He allows you to manage your medical care rather than feel as if you have no control. He will not be the doctor for everyone, but he works well for me. He is new to this practice and of course has some "start up" glitches, but I think over time he will be the doc to see.
